Star Monster Card

Hi everyone :-D

Today I made this Star Monster Card

I love this black/yellow/white color combination and I used it on several cards. You can see them here, here, here, here, here and here. :-D

For my card layout I used wonderful sketch from Your Next Stamp, designed by Julie Elak. I love her sketches! :-D
http://yournextstamp.com/blog/sketch-and-color-challenge-9/

First I made a card layout using a black cardstock paper and printed Prettygrafikdesign digital paper. I colored/distressed edges of patterned papers using Tim Holtz´s Distressed Ink Black Soot and blending tool. I always do that when I use dark colors on my cards. It looks much better. :-D

I used super cute and fun 'Monster' digital stamp (freebie) from Create a Smile. Love this little Monster and I used him twice before on my projects. I am sure I´ll use him again. :-D He is my swap for the circle shape on the sketch.

Image is paper pieced.
I printed two 'Monster' images on a white cardstock paper and colored the pieces in watercoloring technique using only one color (Tim Holtz´s Distressed Ink Mustard Seed), water and brush. I added few dashes to his feet and hair, and colored dots with black permanent pen. I love glossy accents, so I covered Monster´s dots with thick layer of transparent glossy varnish. This way black color looks much prettier. I added some varnish to his teeth too. :-D
After drying, I fussy cut all parts, colored edges with black permanent pens and glued two pieces together. I also added googly eyes onto the Monster, to make him even more funny.
Here is a photo of pieces I used.

He looks like Monster I colored three weeks ago (here), there are just few differences (slightly brighter hair and feet, dashes).

I love dimension on my cards. I added dimensional foam behind the Monster and placed him on the card.

Card dimensions are 149 mm x 105 mm (5 7/8" x 4 1/8").
