Two Cancer Cards (I Love Math Challenge #2)

Hello everyone and welcome to I Love Math Challenge. :o)

I'm so happy the challenge got live and your great response to a first one. Thank you for all your lovely comments and support mails. You are wonderful!! :o)

For new visitors, a brief introduction...

The idea behind:
To combine my two greatest passions together: Math and Crafts. Also to show Math isn't the worst thing in the world. :o)

In each challenge I'll create a project, describe how I made it and create an inspiration board. Something mathematical will be included in each challenge. :o)

My plan is to hold challenges at least two times a year. I'll announce new challenge two weeks before it starts.

And now to the second challenge...
TWO

Two is an even number and first prime number

An even number is a number that can be divided evenly with 2.

A prime number can be divided, without a remainder, only by itself and by 1.

I made these two Cancer Cards, for my two friends, a couple. Like I, they both love Astrology, so Zodiac themed cards were logical choice. Once again, Happy birthday Dijana and Marko! :o)

My take on number two:
  • two cards for my two friends, a couple
  • two stamp sets from two different companies
  • sentiment has two words created in two techniques (stamping and heat embossing)
  • black on white and white on black
  • two enamel dots on each card
  • two pop-up elements on each card

To make these cards I CASEd my own card, you can find here.

I stamped Cancers on a white watercolor paper and colored them with Stabilo Markers. I fussy cut them out and colored edges with black Stabilo Marker.

I use thin watercolor paper. I don't like to spend a lot of money on paper and this one I use is white and I love to color on it. :o)

I wanted images to pop-up, so I had to make images thicker. I stamped two more Cancers on a white cardstock paper, fussy cut them out leaving a white border around them and glued colored images over them. I added withe highlights with a white pen and images were finished. :o)

I stamped part of a sentiment directly on card bases, and the other part, I heat embossed in white on black cardstock paper stripes.

I glued 3-D foams on back of images and heat embossed sentiments and placed them on card bases. I embellished both cards with two enamel stickers and my cards were finished. :o)

Dimensions of both cards: 91 mm x 127 mm (3 5/8" x 5")

List of supplies:

Now it's your turn...

Create anything inspired by number two: two same design cards, two ATCs, two boxes, use number two on your project, stamp two same images on your project, use stamps from two artists/companies, use two words in your sentiment, embellish your card with two embellishments, use two colors... Possibilities are endless. You are welcome to CASE my cards. :o)

Come back for more inspiration in two weeks, on July 21st, when I will be honored to host very creative Guest Artist here on my blog. :o)
