Hoppy Birthday Card (Kitty Bee Designs Spotlight)

Hi everyone :-D

Today it´s my turn to be on the spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs and I made this Hoppy Birthday Card, an interactive wobbler card.

I used super cute image 'Hip Hop Froggie' from 2013 Good Luck Froggies Release. There are six froggies in the release and I like them all. I already used three of them and will use all in my future projects. :-D

"Frogs are symbols of prosperity, wealth, friendship, and abundance in many cultures. In other cultures they symbolize fertility. In the Native American culture of the Southwestern United States, the frog carries a piece of wood in its mouth because the Mojave people believe frogs brought fire to humans. For the ancient Romans, the frog was believed to bring good luck to one's home. Native Aborigines of Australia believe that frogs brought the thunder and rain. Frogs are said to be effective in speeding up recovery from disease. Among the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, frogs symbolized inspiration and fertility. In ancient Egypt, Hekt, the frog goddess, protected newborn babies, hence frogs were symbols of fertility and birth. The frog is also said to attract true friends and to help find long-lasting love."

Details about my card...

This is the first time I made wobbler card. I used photo tutorial Wackel-Karte/Wiggling Card from Stempeleinmaleins to make this fun mechanism. I don't have circle paper puncher, so I used scalloped scallop circle puncher.

Image is paper pieced
I printed two froggies, one on a white cardstock paper and second on green cardstock paper. I colored parts I needed with colored pencils, blended them with my new paper blending stump, fussy cut all parts, colored edges with black permanent pen and glued all pieces together. Then I added gloss resin gel on froggie´s dots, belly and heart, to create glossy accents

I wrote sentiment on my computer using lovely 'Stays In The Cave' free font from Kevin&Amanda and printed it on a large polka dot panel.

Here is a short video of my wobbler card. This is such fun!! :-D

Card dimensions are 101 mm x 139 mm (4" x 5 1/2").

Skating Fancy Sunbonnet Card (KBD Aloha Friday Challenge #46)

Hi everyone :-D

My second post today...

Today a new Aloha Friday Challenge starts at Kitty Bee Designs.
http://kittybeedesigns.blogspot.com/

New challenge for this fortnight is #46 - Girly Cards.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Digi Stamps, with an awesome prize for our random winner: 7 digital images of winner's choice.
http://www.bugaboostamps.com/

For this challenge I made this Skating Fancy Sunbonnet Card, using our sponsor's beautiful image 'Fancy Sunbonnet Winter'.

Image on the card is paper pieced and for this one I used 7 images.

I printed 6 same images on white paper (160 grams), colored parts I needed with colored pencils, blended colors with baby oil, fussy cut pieces, colored edges with permanent pen and glued all pieces together. Here is a photo of all pieces I used.

I printed one more image on a piece of design paper and glued pieced image over it.

I distressed card base and all paper layers with Tim Holtz's Distressed Ink Brushed Corduroy. I added acrylic texture paste to the card and when it was dry, smeared it with pearl maker. I also made dots with pearl maker around the image. When all was dry, I decorated card with two paper roses, synthetic snowballs and die-cut butterflies, and also added some pearl maker to all elements, to create snowy look.

Card dimensions are 114 mm x 114 mm (4 1/2" x 4 1/2").

Girl With Roses Easel Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #116)

Happy Friday everyone :-D

It´s time for a new challenge at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

The theme for this fortnight is #116, Ein selten oder noch nie benutzter Stempel / Rarely or Never Used Stamp.

This time our lucky winner will win this gorgeous Vintage paper pack.

For this challenge I made this Girl With Roses Easel Card, a Confirmation card for my niece Vanesa.

I used my new gorgeous Mo's Manning digital stamp 'Alisa with Roses'. I printed the image on a white paper (160 grams), colored it with colored pencils and  blended colors with baby oil. I cut out an oval shape around the image, leaving part of a dress outside the shape (idea for this is from here).

Then I made an easel card base. I used bracket shape templates I made using Joy! crafts Die-Cut Designpaper 'Elegance'. I don't have die-cut machine, so I make my own cardstock templates.

I decorated card base with Joy! crafts Die-Cut Designpaper 'Elegance'.

I added acrylic paste on the card, smearing it through gauze. After paste was dry, I glued image and note panel on the card and decorated it with butterflies and roses.

I distressed paper roses with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy

White butterflies are made using butterfly stencil, structure paste and palette knife. I made the stencil from cardstock scraps and butterfly paper puncher.

Brown butterflies are made using digital butterfly template. I printed them in various sizes, fussy cut them, distressed with Tim Holtz's Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy, glued on the card and coated with découpage glue and varnish.

Card dimensions are 152 mm x 127 mm (6" x 5").
