I Love Math Challenge #14

Hello everyone and welcome to a new I Love Math Challenge!

This is the fourteenth challenge. If you're new to my blog, you can find more about the challenge here.

A theme for this challenge is picked by our lovely ValentinaGRID (Nonograms, known also as Picross or Griddlers, Cross Stitch etc.).

Grid is a pattern of horizontal and vertical lines spaced out at regular intervals, forming squares or rectangles.
Source: Your Dictionary  (https://www.yourdictionary.com/grid)

Nonogram is a puzzle in which cells of a grid must be filled or left blank, according to sets of numbers given at the side of the grid, to reveal a hidden picture.

Cross Stitch
1. A double stitch forming an X in sewing and embroidery.
2. Needlework made with X-shaped stitches.

And now inspiration from the team...

Here is Valentina's take on the challenge. :o)

GORGEOUS!!! Beautiful design, layout, elegant and modern look, beautiful sentiment and script, lovely stitched scene...  I want to go to Greece right away. ♥ I love Valentina's challenge theme and her take on this challenge theme.  Jump over to Valentina's blog and find more details about her card. :o)

Here is Neha's take on the challenge. :o)

GORGEOUS!!! Beautiful design, colors, scene... grid. I'm looking at this card and thinking about seaside. I love Neha's card and her take on this challenge theme. BRILLIANT!!!!  Find more details about Neha's card on her blog. As she is on vacation, she will share her card on her blog in couple days. :o)

And here is my take on the challenge: Cross Stitch Bumblebee. :o)

I wanted to try and learn for a long time embroidery cross stitch technique. I tried it for the first time two weeks ago. I bought an Aida fabric and some embroidery threads in my local store, found some lovely patterns, templates and how to on the web and started learning cross stitch. It's so relaxing and I love it. :o)

I found a lovely bumblebee cross stitch pattern on D.M.C. web page. I embroidered the bumblebee on the Aida fabric using 100% cotton embroidery threads. I used cross stitch and back stitch (for outlines and details). When I was finished, I placed my embroidered piece in a frame I found in our house. :o)

I like how my bumblebee turned out and I'm sure this won't be my last embroidery project. :o)

List of supplies:
  • DMC Bumble Bee Cross Stitch pattern (free)
  • Aida fabric
  • embroidery needle
  • Runolist 100% cotton mercerizes embroidery threads:
    • yellow
    • brown
    • light grey
    • black
  • Ljubica 100% cotton embroidery thread, dark grey
  • scissors

Now it's your turn...

Create a summer themed project featuring grid.

Nonograms, also known as Picross or Griddlers, are picture logic puzzles in which cells in a grid must be colored or left blank to reveal a hidden picture. You can make your own nonogram, use stamps for creating it, or hand draw it. Templates from web, books, other crafters etc. are welcome, just please mention in your blog posts the template source.

Or use cross stitch technique to create your grid like project.

Or use any technique to create grid like picture. :o)
