Raccoon in Love Card (KBD Aloha Friday Challenge #136 Mid Inspiration)

http://kittybeedesigns.blogspot.com/

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I'm sharing a mid-inspiration project for an ongoing Aloha Friday Challenge at Kitty Bee Designs.

The challenge for this fortnight is #136 - Love & Valentines.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Beccy's Place.

And here's my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), Raccoon in Love Card. :o)

For my card I used a SUPER CUTE Kitty Bee Designs 'Heart Strings Raccoon' digital image. Isn't he ADORABLE!!! :o)

How I made my card....

First I made a layout on my computer. Then I printed the raccoon three times: one directly on a  white cardstock paper and two on a watercolor paper (I printed one just in case if I mess something... I did). I left images to dry couple hours.

I prepared the card base first. I folded in half the white cardstock paper and got the card base. Then I colored the raccoon with black marker.

Then I colored the raccoon printed on the watercolor paper in watercolor technique using Stabilo Pens (Markers). As I managed to smear raccoon's muzzle, I colored another muzzle on the image I had printed just in case. :o)

After drying, I fussy cut all pieces, traced edges with black marker, softened pieces on a soft working mat using stylus ball and glued all pieces over the image colored in black on the card base.

For a sentiment I decided to hand letter word love. I didn't like how I connected the sentiment and a string, so I decided to cover that with another heart. I watercolored the heart, fussy cut it, traced edges, softened it and glued it over the part where I connected the sentiment and the string. :o)

As a finishing touch I punched two opposite corners of the card using a rounded corner paper puncher and drew white highlights using white pigment ink. :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 127 m(3 3/4" x 5")

Hand Lettering #8: Enjoy Mini Card Set, Cursive Style

Hello everyone!!! :o)

My third and last post today... If you missed previous two, just scroll down or follow direct links here and here.

I love mini cards and mini images. Combining both, I made this hand lettered, CAS (clean and simple), one layer, Enjoy Mini Card Set.

I drew a line and wrote word 'enjoy' on two white cardstock paper card bases in cursive handwriting styleI used dip pen nib and black drawing ink.

I prepared various hand lettered samples during my personal challenge Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces 2017 to color during a 7th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker. These two also. I hand lettered them on DAY 9 of my challenge and colored it on a DAY 25 of Kathy's challenge. :o)

I had no idea what I want to do with hand lettered samples for days. Tiny image yes, but which one... Same or different image on both cards.... Nothing fit. And then I received an ADORABLE Gerda Steiner Designs 'Hoppiness' stamp set that I won at The Hoppiness Giveaway. I knew immediately I will use super cute birdie on my both cards.

I CASEd my own card, Sing Mini Card II. I went with same design and layout, but with different birds (from different artists), sentiments and colors.

I stamped birds on both card bases and colored them with colored pencils. I trimmed bottoms of both cards, covered birds' beaks and legs with transparent varnish to create glossy accents and left cards dry couple hours. As a finishing touch, I embellished cards with enamel dots.

Cards measurements: 76 mm x 89 mm (3" x 3.5")

I'm entering my card set to following challenges:

Hand Lettering #7: Happy Birthday Rainbow Card

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I'm sharing four cards with you, all in separate posts through the day. All my posts are scheduled and will go live every full odd hour, from 3 PM to 9 PM. This is my 2nd post today. If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here. :o)

My second card today is this hand lettered, CAS (clean and simple), one layer, Happy Birthday Rainbow Card.

I wrote a sentiment on a top folded card base in cursive handwriting styleI used dip pen nib and black drawing ink. For a card base I used a Canson XL Mixed Media Paper.

This one also. I hand lettered it on DAY 12 of my challenge and colored it on a DAY 15 of Kathy's challenge. :o)

I loosely watercolored the card in Rainbow color pattern using Distress Inks. I added color by color, drying them between. When I was satisfied with that large color splosh on my card, I splattered the card with same Distress Inks.

As a finishing touch, I highlighted the sentiment with white gel pen.

Hand Lettering #6: Happy Birthday Sentiment, Cursive Style (Digital Freebie)

Hello everyone!!! :o)

Today I want to share with you another hand lettering project that I made during my personal challenge, Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces. It's a sentiment 'happy birthday' written in a cursive handwriting style.

I wrote the sentiment numerous times on mixed media paper scraps (not all shown on a photo below), using a dip pen nib and black drawing ink.

The one I liked most, I scanned and transferred it to a digital format, which I decided to share here as a freebie. :o)

Feel free to download the sentiment and use it on your handmade projects. Please be respectful to my artwork and read an Angel Policy and Terms of Use. :o)

I would love to see your creations using my digital sentiment, so feel free to add links in comment section so I could visit you. :o)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Enjoy and smile! :o)

Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces 2017, Part 3

Hello everyone!!! :o)

Yesterday a Pisces period ended and also my 3rd annual personal challenge, Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces. Goals of my challenges are to improve my skills.

The challenge took time in the Pisces Period, from February 18th, 12:31 PM until March 20th 11:29 AM (CET, UTC +1Dubrovnik, Croatia).

This year I challenged myself to practice hand lettering every day in the Pisces periodGoals of the challenge were to improve my hand lettering skills, to encourage myself to hand letter on my projects and to continue practicing after the challenge ends. More details about this year's challenge in an Intro post.

I'm so happy that I completed one more personal challenge. I managed to practice my hand lettering every day, I accomplished my goals and had a lot of fun. :o)

Today I'm sharing with you Part 3 (last one) of my hand lettered uncolored/unfinished samples that I made (wrote) from March 11th until March 20th (10 days). If you missed first two previews or you want to see them again, just follow these links: Part 1 and Part 2.

I focused on hand lettering and not coloring and finishing projects. I decided they will be my preparation for an ongoing 7th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker, which started on March 1st. For more info, jump to Kathy's blog.

I will be coloring all my samples during Kathy's current challenge. Well, that's my plan. :o) After I color my samples and make something out of them, I'll be sharing them here on my blog in separate posts with detailed description. I'll update this post and link photos in this post to finished project posts.

Here is a day by day preview. :o)
(Click on the photo and it will take you to the finished project post. If there is no link, my project is not finished and published yet.)

This year is 3rd year I have this challenge. It started on February 18th at 12:31 PM and will end on March 20th at 11:29 AM. (CET, UTC +1Dubrovnik, Croatia)

More details about this year's challenge in an Intro post.

Today I'm sharing with you Part 2 of my hand lettered uncolored/unfinished samples that I made (wrote) from March 1st until March 10th (10 days). If you want to see Part 1 of samples I made for the challenge, follow this link. :o)

I focused on hand lettering and not coloring and finishing projects. I decided they will be my preparation for an ongoing 7th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker, which started on March 1st. I am and will be coloring all my samples during Kathy's challenge. For more info, jump to Kathy's blog. Also, an ink I'm using is drying slow and I avoid coloring my samples on the same day as I write them to prevent ink smearing. :o)

After I color my samples and make something out of them, I'll be sharing them here on my blog in separate posts with detailed description. I'll update this post and link photos in this post to finished project posts.
