Valentine Monster Card

Hi everyone! Happy Valentine's Day!! :o)

This is my second post today. If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here.

Today I want to share with you this Valentine Monster Card. :o)

I made this card for my sweetheart.

To make this card I used super adorable 'Monster the One and Only' freebie digital image from Goebie Design. :o)

How I made my card...

I made a layout on my computer and printed the image directly on a Kraft cardstock card base. I left it aside for an hour to let ink dry completely to prevent ink smearing while coloring.

I colored the image with various colored pencils.

Then I colored monster's eyes, teeth and toes and drew white highlights with a white pigment ink.

As a finishing touch, I rounded three corners with a rounded corner paper puncher and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 133 mm (3 3/4" x 5 1/4")

Cards und More Advent With Friends - Day 23

Hi everyone! :o)

I was so happy and honored that my dear friend Fikreta of Bad Kitty's Craft Room invited me to join a super fun and inspirational Advent With Friends event over at Cards und More blog.

I love CAS (clean and simple) cards, so I went with CAS card for this event too and created this Merry Christmas Card. :o)

For my card I used ADORABLE reindeer from Mama Elephant 'Reindeer Games' stamp set and sentiment from  Apple Blossom 'Happy Santa' stamp set.

Image is paper pieced. First I stamped a sentiment and reindeer directly on a top folded card base and colored the reindeer with black marker. Then I stamped the reindeer on a watercolor paper, colored him in watercolor technique with Distress Inks, fussy cut, colored edges with black marker and softened him with stylus ball. Lastly, I glued the colored reindeer over the reindeer stamped on the card base, covered his muzzle and medallion on his collar with gloss resin to create glossy accents and my card was finished. :o)

I stamped the reindeer on a white watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the reindeer, traced edges with black marker, stamped another reindeer on a piece of white cardstock paper, colored him in black, fussy cut him leaving thin white border around him, and glued colored reindeer over the black colored one. I did this because the watercolor paper I use is very thin and I needed thicker image for my card.

Then I heat embossed in white the sentiment on a Kraft cardstock panel and glued the panel on a white side folded card base.

Lastly, I glued some foam squares on the back of the reindeer, placed him on card and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 127 mm x 95 m(5" x 3 3/4")

List of supplies:
  • Mama Elephant 'Reindeer Games' stamp set

Autumn Blessings Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Autumn Blessings Card:o)

To make this card I was inspired with a card I made in January this year (here). I love the monochrome look and how my card turned out, so I kind of recreated it (is this a CASE??). I went with same design, layout and color scheme, but went with different theme, images and made some differences. :o)

I used stamps from two beautiful brand new Jane's Doodles stamp sets: images from 'Pumpkin Spice' stamp set and a sentiment from 'Hello Fall' stamp set.

    How I made this card...

stamped images randomly on a panel, for which I used Canson XL Mixed Media Paper. I colored images in watercolor technique using only one Distress Ink Color: Ground Espresso.

After drying, I stamped a sentiment in black on the panel and glued the panel on a Kraft top folded card base.

As a finishing touch, I highlighted all images and sentiment using white pigment ink pen. :o)

    Card measurements: 95 mm x 133 mm (3 3/4" x 5 1/4")
