deLIGHTful Birthday Card

Hello everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you this CAS (clean and simple), deLIGHTful Birthday Card.

To make this card I followed current NBUS challenge #8 by my crafty friend Darnell of djkardkreations.

Darnell is celebrating 5th birthaversary, 1000 subscribers, 1000th post... CONGRATULATIONS DARNELL!! :o)

Idea and main rule of the challenge is to use NBUS (never before used stuff).
Darnell added optional theme for this challenge this time: Use Colored Pencils on Kraft.
For more information about the challenge, jump over to Darnell's blog.

NBUS I used to make this card is a super fun Your Next Stamp 'Perfect Chemistry' stamp set. I got this stamp set in November 2016.:o)

I went with optional theme and used colored pencils on Kraft. I tried coloring with colored pencils on various Kraft papers before (see here). I like it and enjoy coloring with colored pencils, but my favorite coloring technique is watercolor technique. :o)

How I made my card...

I stamped a light bulb from the set on a Crafter's Companion Neenah Desert Storm Kraft paper panel and colored it with colored pencils (white parts with white gel pen). I blended colors with paper stump (except white parts).

I stamped a sentiment from the set on the panel, glued black and design paper stripes on a white top folded card base, trimmed the panel and glued it on the card base and my card was finished.

Lightning Bug Card (Crafty Creations Challenges #295)

      http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/

      Hi everyone :-D

It´s time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges.

Our theme for this fortnight is #295 - Chalkboard.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Oak Pond Creations, with an awesome prize for our random winner: 3 digital images.
      https://www.etsy.com/shop/OakPondCreations

For this challenge I made this Lightning Bug Card, using our sponsor's lovely digital image 'Lightning Bug Buddies'. I used only one bug for my card.

Image is paper pieced and I used 3 images for this card.

I printed 2 images on a white watercoloring paper and one image on design paper. I colored parts I needed in watercoloring technique, using Stabilo pens (markers), fine brush and water. I learned that from a great video tutorial by Julia Altermann, how to watercolor using inexpensive Stabilo pens. Awesome technique and I love it! :-D

I fussy cut colored parts, colored edges with black Stabilo pen (marker) and glued all pieces over the image printed on design paper.

I used chalk tag, enamel stickers and flair button to embellish my card.

      Card dimensions are 107 mm x 138 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").
