Butterflies in Mandala Circle Card

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you this Butterflies in Mandala Card I made for my mom who's birthday is today. :o)

♥ HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

To make this card, I used a GORGEOUS Create a Smile 'Mandala' cling stamp and Sizzix butterfly thinlits die.

heat embossed in white the Mandala on a white watercolor paper. I colored the Mandala in watercolor technique using two Distress Inks, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean, and a lot of water. When I was satisfied with color, I dried the paper and cut it into a circle shape. I cut another same size circle from a white cardstock paper and two larger circles. I glued together two larger circles to create a card base.

Then I die cut butterflies in the panel and bunch of butterflies from the white cardstock paper.

With all pieces ready, I started assembling my card. First I glued the watercolored panel on the same size white cardstock circle. Then I glued butterflies. I combined die cut inlay and die cut stacking techniques. When I glued all pieces together, I glued the panel on the card base and my card was finished. :o)

Mandala Birthday Cards

Hi everyone!!! :o)

I hope you're enjoying your weekend. :o) Today I want to share with you these two, one layer, Mandala Birthday Cards.

I went with same design and layout as on my Watercolored Blue Mandala Cards that I shared on my blog earlier this year, only this time, I included big bold sentiment in the design. :o)

I used a gorgeous Create a Smile 'Mandala' cling stamp and beautiful sentiment from Jane's Doodles 'Birthday Wishes' stamp set.

For card bases I used Canson XL Mixed Media Paper.

heat embossed in clear the Mandala and stamped the sentiment in black directly on top folded card bases.

I colored cards in watercolor technique using two Distress Inks for each and a lot of water (see detailed supply list below). I added colors in layers, drying them between. When I was satisfied with colors, I splattered cards with the Distress Inks I used for coloring.

As a finishing touch, I coated Mandalas and word 'wishes' on both cards with Clear Wink of Stella. Shimmer, shimmer... LOVE it!!! :o)
