Hi everyone! :o)
It's time for a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps Challenge Blog. It's #156, Anything Goes Challenge.
For this challenge I made this Surprise Robot Birthday Card.
I made this card for my brother Goran who's birthday is today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO!!! ♥
I love CAS (clean and simple) and interactive cards. I combined both and made my first ever pop-up card. :o)
For my card I used a super cute C. C. Designs 'Rusty' rubber stamp available in LMMS shop here.
First I made pop-up construction. I stamped robot's legs inside a card base and cut around stamped image with craft knife. I cut two more lines with trimmer and folded pop-up element, as shown on the photo below.
I stamped a sentiment using Create a Smile 'Mini Birthday' stamp set, colored robot's legs and traced edges with black marker, stamped another robot on a white cardstock paper, fussy cut him out, colored him and traced edges with black marker also and glued it over robot's legs (upper part is not glued). I layered the image to make it more sturdy.
Then I glued a white cardstock panel on the back of the card base and glued everything together inside another card base. This way I hid that cut part and made card sturdy, so it can easily stand when open. :o)
Next up was coloring. I decided to go with same colors as on a Robot Birthday Card I made for our previous challenge two weeks ago. I stamped the robot twice on a thick white watercolor paper. I colored one image whole and other only a head in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. I added extra shades with colored pencils, fussy cut both images and traced edges with black marker.
I glued the colored robot inside the card over the robot colored in black and inside of the card was finished.
Then I glued colored robot's head on the front card panel as he is peeking from the corner, cut away the excess, stamped questionnaire mark from Create a Smile 'Whimsical Wheels' stamp set above robot's antenna and my card was finished. :o)
Here is a short video...
I hope you liked my card for today and got inspired. For more inspiration, stop by the LMMS Challenge Blog. Join us in on Challenge #156. The challenge will last for two weeks. There is also a prize for one lucky winner: $10.00 Gift Voucher to the LMMS shop. We like to select couple other projects to highlight as well. :o)
