Sunflowers and Spices Shadow Box (Crafting by Designs April GDT)

Hi everyone :-D

I was delighted to be asked to do a Guest Designer project at Crafting by Designs for April's 'Anything Goes' challenge, after being featured in their February spotlight.

http://craftingbydesigns.blogspot.com/

I like shadow boxes and tiny decorations, so I decided to make this Sunflowers and Spices Shadow Box, cute mini decoration for my kitchen.

I made a shadow box frame from one sheet of paper from Graphic 45 paper collection 'French Country', as shown in a video tutorial by Lily. I used 8" x 8" sized paper and got a frame dimensioned 3" x 3" x 5/8".

I embellished shadow box with fussy cut and distressed sunflowers and postage stamps from Graphic 45 'French Country' paper collection, butterflies die-cuts, Eucalyptus bark, Star Anise, four peppercorns and tiny marmalade and jams.

Butterflies are cut of 'Flutter Tree' die-cut. I bought die-cuts last year on eBay, because I don´t have die-cut machine. They were white and I colored them with Distress Inks and water.

I collected Eucalyptus bark last summer when I was visiting Lokrum island. It was dry and fell of the tree, so I didn't damage anything. :-D After I glued pieces of bark on the box frame and was completely dry, I distressed it with Tim Holtz's Distressed Inks.

I got Star Anise last week from my boyfriend/partner. This is the most beautiful spice to me. Nature really creates amazing tings! :-D

To make small marmalade and jams I used glass vials with corks, clear resin, glass colors, paper scraps, distressed inks, raffia and small labels I made using MS Word.

Marmelade d'oranges - Marmelade
Confiture de fraises- Strawberry Jam
Confiture de myrtilles sauvages - Wild Blueberry Jam
