Square Birthday Shaker Card

Happy Friday! :o)

Today I want to share with you this CAS (clean and simple), Square Birthday Shaker Card I made for my youngest cousin Elena (Eli), who will celebrate 3rd birthday in two weeks. :o)

My card is a CASE of an adorable shaker card made by Laura Bassen of Doublestick Heaven. So simple and so pretty. Love!! :o) Same design, but some differences. I made 1" x 1" larger card than Laura, I used polka dot patterned paper and only three different color sequins: pink, white, silver.

How I made this card...

First I cut all parts I needed. Here are the measurements:

• card base: 8" x 4" (folded in half 4" x 4")
• white panels: 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" x 2
• patterned paper: 4" x 4"
• circle window on patterned paper: d = 3"
• acetate sheet: 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
• foam: 4" x 4" square with circle window d = 3 1/4", 3 mm thick

I stamped a sentiment from Create a Smile 'Mini Birthday' mini stamp set on the white panel and glued it on the front of the top folded card base. I glued acetate sheet on circle window and then foam on the back of the patterned paper panel.

For shaker elements I used three different shaker elements mixese (see detailed supply list below). These are adorable, but I didn't want to use all colors included. I picked some from each mix and created my own. I placed shaker elements on the card and glued the patterned paper panel on the top of the card.

Lastly, I glued another white panel inside the card to make it thicker and more stable, because front of the card is quite heavy and card couldn't stand.
