Rainbow Striped Birthday Card

Happy Friday! :o)

Today I want to share with you  a birthday card I made for my niece Mia, my cousins daughter, who turned 6 this week.

I've played again with a CAS(E) this Sketch #160 and made this CAS (clean and simple), Rainbow Striped Birthday Card.

This is my 3rd take on the sketch. You can find my first take on this sketch here and second here.

Here is the CAS(E) this Sketch #160.

How I made the card...

I cut a panel from watercolor paper. I could go with one layer card because watercolor paper I used is thick enough, but I want to be very rational with this one and save on it because it was quite expensive.

I stamped a sentiment from Jane's Doodles 'Birthday Wishes' stamp set on the panel and drew thick lines in watercolor technique using Distress Inks, a lot of water and flat brush, following a Rainbow color pattern. After drying, I drew thinner lines using Distress Inks, a bit of water and rounded brush.

When I was satisfied with color of stripes, I dried the panel and glued it on a top folded white card base. I highlighted the sentiment with a white gel pen and coated thin lines with Clear Wink of Stella and my card was finished. :o)

Card dimensions: 88 mm x 127 mm (3.5" x 5")
