Hi everyone! :o)
I hope you're all great and having a great week! It's been quiet here on my blog this week. I'm spending most of my time outside on the Sun, doing a remake of our terrace, building up a balcony garden and planting vegetables and herbs. Oh how happy I am!!! :o)
Today a new challenge starts at Little Miss Muffet Stamps Challenge Blog. It's #162, Anything Goes Challenge.
I made this card for my cousin who will celebrate her 30th birthday this week. :o)
For my card I used an adorable LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Polka Dot Pals Maria' digital stamp. I love it!! This image and couple others are released to the store today. Find them here. :o)
I printed PDP Maria on a thick watercolor paper and left her dry over the night so the ink could settle and it prevents ink smearing while coloring. I always leave printed images drying no matter what coloring medium I'll use.
I watercolored PDP Maria using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the image and traced edges with black marker.
Next up was slider/spinner construction. First I made a wave stencil from a thick cardstock paper. I used the stencil to cut two wave lines, next to each other. Then I cut that section. I glued 3D foams on the back of the panel leaving enough space for a slider element to move. Then I made slider element (I have no idea how to call that... that piece that moves and image is mounted on). I used cardstock punched circles and brad, put everything together, inserted it in the slide and glued the panel on another black panel.
Then I glued a foam on PDP Maria and glued her on the slider element. Lastly, I glued the panel on a side folded card base and my card was finished. :o)
PDP Maria can spin 360° (forgot to take more photos and I already sent the card). I'm very satisfied how my card turned out. She looks like she dances on the card. :o)
