500th Blog Post + Welcome New Subscribers

Hi everyone!!

My blog subscribers have been steadily growing over the past few months and I thought it would be a good idea to pop in and say hello, introduce myself and tell you a little bit more about me. Also, this is my 500th blog post, so I find it very convenient. :o)

My name is Milka Gubo, a crafter from Croatia. I currently live in Mlini, small coastal town near Dubrovnik. I live with my partner Goran. We are not married, but live in a domestic partnership. We don't have kids yet.

I was born in Slovenia (Celje) and lived there until 1995, when I moved with my parents and brother to Croatia. Last few years I moved 3 times.

I'm 36 years old and my astrology sign is Pisces. I love Astrology.

My mother tongue is Croatian. I speak Slovenian and English well. I can communicate on German also, but I didn't have an opportunity to learn it more than 3 years, so it's not so good. I also learned Sanskrit for 2,5 years, but can't use it to speak. I've always been crazy for learning languages and different scripts. Except Latin, I can write Cyrillic, Devanagari and Futhark. I want to learn old Croatian script: Glagolitic script.

I'm a Graduate Traffic Engineer and Economist. I currently work in a primary school and teach Mathematics and Physics. I love my job.

I love Math a lot, especially Algebra and Geometry. Last year I started a challenge here on my blog combining Math and Craft: I Love Math Challenge.

I craft since I can remember. I love to experiment with materials and mediums, learn new techniques and crafts. Here is a short list of crafts I love: photographing, card making, album making, 3-D projects making, Origami, Kusudama, knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, lettering, jewelry making, modeling.

I've started card making in winter 2013 when I was making some Christmas cards for my family and friends. Since then I'm more focused on card making.

When I was a kid, I hated coloring. I was more in "do with your hands" mode. Now I enjoy it so much, I can't imagine I don't color at least couple hours a week.

My favorites in card making:

• design: CAS (clean and simple) dseign
• coloring technique: watercolor
• coloring medium: Tim's Holtz Distress Inks
• card base color: white
• colors: blue, violet
• color combos: blue+white, violet+black, violet+white, grey+black+yellow

I started blogging in September 2014. I decided to write on my blog in English and not my mother tongue, because I wanted to improve my English. I'm currently on several design teams. You can find all details in my Creative Resume.

Except crafting and Mathematics, I love music, reading, cycling, traveling and visiting historical places, cooking, gardening and making natural cosmetics. I also love to assemble furniture and build stuff. On the photo below is my crafting place. I assembled the table by myself.
