B&W Glittery Snowflakes Card (CRAFT-alnica #192, August GDT)

Hi everyone! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at CRAFT-alnica, Slovenian challenge blog, for month of August. I'll share my challenge projects twice this month as GDT at CRAFT-alnica.

First challenge I'm guesting this month is a challenge #192 - Bleščeč Božič v avgustu / Glittery Christmas in August. The theme is picked by DT Lili. Use glitter, glittery material or glittery embossing powder on your Christmas cards.

It was quite a challenge for me to create a card for this challenge, as glitter and glittery stuff are not something I like. After long time thinking and combining this and that, I decided to go with B&W color combo and super simple design. Here is my take on the challenge: Black & White Glittery Snowflakes Card Card.

To make this card, I used GORGEOUS Create a Smile snowflake stencil from 'Frosty Fun' kit.

I mixed a structure paste with white glitter on an acrylic block. I spread the paste through the stencil on a black cardstock paper panel, removed the stencil and left the panel dry for half an hour. Then I sprinkled whole surface with white glitter, so the surface of snowflakes would be even more glittery. I left the panel dry over the night. :o)

Next day I glued the panel on a foam sheet square, 3 mm thick, and glued the panel on a black cardstock base. To make my card sturdier and stable while standing, I glued another black cardstock paper panel inside the card and my card was finished.

Card dimensions: 153 mm x 101 mm (6" x 4")

List of supplies:
  • black cardstock paper
  • Snowflakes stencil from Create a Smile 'Frosty Fun' kit
  • Marabu Light Structure Paste (805)
  • white glitter
  • foam sheet, 3 mm thick
  • UHU liquid glue
  • Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer
  • bone folder
  • scissors
  • palette knife (spatula) no. #1
  • acrylic block
  • microfiber cloth (for cleaning)

I hope you'll like my glittery card and get inspired. :o) Stop by the CRAFT-alnica and see amazing creations from the Design Team made for this challenge. The challenge ends on August 22nd, 23:55 (11:55 PM) CEST, so there is plenty time to share your Glittery Christmas cards with us. :o) For more information about the challenge rules and prizes, jump over to challenge post at CRAFT-alnica. :o)

  4. Glede na to, da ne maraš bleščic, si nalogo odlično opravila. Krasna bleščeča novoletna voščilnica.
