Birthday Rainbow Tune Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #188 + RCC #1)

Hello everyone! :o)

It's time for a new challenge over at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Our theme for this fortnight is #188, Schwarz/Weiß + Regenbogen / Black/White + Rainbow.

And here is my take on the challenge: Birthday Rainbow Tune Card.

To make this card I used stamps from three stamp sets from various artists (find a detailed supply list below).

I stamped a super cute radio on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut it, colored the edges with a black marker, softened it with a stylus ball and glued it over another radio I stamped on a white cardstock paper. I fussy cut the radio again, this time leaving a thin white border around it.

And then my radio waited for three weeks to be placed on a card. Two days ago, I finally decided what to do with it and finished my card.

I stamped a sentiment on a white cardstock paper panel and glued it on a white side folded card base. I glued some foam on the radio and placed it on the card. Then I stamped four tiny stars as they are floating out of antenna.

As a finishing touch, I added white highlights with white gel pen and my card was finished. :o)

Rainbow Striped Birthday Card

Hello everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you this Rainbow Striped Birthday Card.

For my card I used a 'Plaid Maker' ARTploarations Stencil. I blended Distress Inks through the stencil on a white cardstock paper panel using Mini Ink Blending Tool. When I was satisfied with colors, I removed the stencil and splattered the panel with water. I will never get bored of Distress Ink magic and how it reacts with water. :o)

Next up was a sentiment. I heat embossed in white on a black cardstock paper the sentiment form Jane's Doodles 'Belated Birthday' stamp set.

As a finishing touch, I embellished the card with enamel dots. :o)

Cycling Panda Card (KBD Aloha Friday Challenge #112 Mid Inspiration)

http://kittybeedesigns.blogspot.com/

Happy Friday! :o)

Today I'm sharing a mid-inspiration project for an ongoing Aloha Friday Challenge at Kitty Bee Designs.

The challenge for this fortnight is #112 - Anything Goes w/optional twist: Love and Marriage.

We have two sponsors for this challenge: Bugaboo Stamps and MMedel Illustrations, so there will be double prizes! :o)

I went with Anything Goes theme without optional twist and made this CAS (clean and simple), Cycling Panda Card. :o)

I made this card for my friend, passionate photographer and cyclist. Although his birthday is in July, I made it now. I make many birthday cards through the year, but I'm always in lack of them. It's better to be prepared in advance and not to stress two days before someone's birthday, right. :o)

How I made the card...

To make this card I was inspired with a current challenge theme over at The Male Room: Sport / Winter Olympics. I went with cycling as a sport theme.

I used a super cute Kitty Bee Designs 'Trike Panda' digital image. :o)

I printed the panda on a white cardstock paper. I colored it with various colored pencils and fine liners. Then I fussy cut the panda and traced edges with a black marker.

Next up was a sentiment. I used alphabet stickers to create the sentiment. I glued letters on a white cardstock paper panel, glued some foam tape on the panel and glued it on a white top folded card base.

I glued some foam on the panda also and placed it above the sentiment, as the sentiment was road and panda was cycling on it. :o)

To make card sturdier, as I put quite an amount of foam on the card, I glued another white cardstock paper panel inside the card.

As a finishing touch I drew white highlights and horn sound trace, as I cut it off from the original image. :o)

Dimensions: 105 mm x 136 m(4 1/8" x 5 3/8")

List of supplies:
  • Kitty Bee Designs 'Trike Panda' digital image
  • Create a Smile Alphabet Stickers: Black
  • white cardstock paper
  • TOZ Artist Color colored pencils:
    • light blue
    • dark blue
  • TOZ Fantasy colored pencil, light grey

  • Stabilo fine liners 0.4:
    • light blue 88/57
    • dark blue 88/41
    • light grey 88/94

Stinkin' Fabulous Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hello everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Stinkin' Fabulous Card:o)

I made this card for my dear niece Vanesa, my cousin's daughter, who turned 17 yesterday.

To make this card I used stamps from super cute Jane's Doodles 'Stinks!' stamp set and coordinating Jane's Doodles 'Stinks' dies set.

I stamped a skunk on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Ink Black Soot. After drying, I fussy cut the skunk and traced edges with black marker.

I stamped another skunk on a white cardstock paper and using coordinating die from the set and Sizzix Big Shot, cut the skunk. I colored the skunk in black.

Then I glued together two skunks, watercolored one and die cut (black) one. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

Next up was a background. I lined up sentiment stamps on an acrylic block and stamped the sentiment over whole white cardstock paper panel. I used a grid on a Xcut self healing working mat to stamp straight.

With all pieces ready, I assembled the card. I trimmed the panel a bit and glued it on a white top folded card base. I glued a vellum paper rectangle on the panel to tone down the background a bit. I glued 3-D foam squares on the skunk and placed the skunk on the vellum. As a finishing touch, I drew highlights on the skunk and embellished the card with violet enamel hearts. :o)

Card dimensions: 89 mm x 120 mm (3 1/2" x 4 3/4")

Celebrating 30 days of Pisces 2018 - Intro

Hello everyone! :o)

Today, Sun entered Pisces and Pisces period has started. :o)

Three years ago (2015), I started a personal challenge which took time in Pisces period, Celebrating 30 days of Pisces. I gave myself 4 challenges to complete them in 30 days. Goals of these challenges were to improve my coloring and card making skills, to learn some new techniques, to finish a "long time waiting to be finished" project and to improve my English with writing here on blog daily. I managed to complete all challenges, I accomplished my goals, made some new friends and had loads of fun!

Satisfied with results of my first challenge and self improvement, I decided to make this challenge annual. :o)

Two years ago (2016), I've challenged myself to make 30 CAS cards in 30 days, as they were (and still are) my favorite card design. I made 30 CAS cards and completed the challenge. Not all cards I made were unique design, there were couple sets and CASEs, but I accomplished my goals and improved coloring and designing skills.

Last year (2017) I've challenged myself to practice hand lettering every day in Pisces period. Goals of the challenge were to improve my hand lettering skills, to encourage myself  to hand letter on my projects and to continue practicing after the challenge ends. I've completed the challenge, practiced every day, improved my hand lettering skills, but didn't practice since.

You can find all about my previous years celebrations/challenges on my Personal Challenges Page.

Celebrating 30 days of Pisces 2018

This is a personal challenge and will take time in Pisces period that started today, February 18th at 6:18 PM and ends on March 20th at 5:15 PM. (CET, UTC +1Dubrovnik, Croatia).

I love rainbow colors, but don't use them so often on my projects.

I'm challenging myself to make 20 (or more) cards featuring rainbow colors in Pisces period.

Due to my busy daily schedule and my every day commuting, it's not possible for me to craft every day, so I'm going to limit myself to make at least 20 cards, which at the moment looks possible to achieve. :o)

Idea is to make 20 (or more) cards featuring rainbow colors in 30 days period. As I want to practice, I'll be CASEing some cards (I'll ask designers permission to CASE their cards), but not more than half of the total. Mass produced cards are counting as one.

Goals of the challenge are to improve my cardmaking skills and to use more rainbow colors on my cards.

I'll be sharing my progress and finished cards here on my blog as I finish them (and time and weather allows me so). At the end of the challenge, I'll write wrap-up post with a complete preview.

Thank you for visiting and reading. Enjoy and smile! :o)

9th 30 Day Coloring Challenge Preview

Hi everyone!

I'm sure most of you heard about Kathy's Racoosin 30 day coloring challenge. If not, here is a brief introduction.

Kathy of The Daily Marker started super fun challenge 30 Day Coloring Challenge in March 2015 and organizes it couple of times a year.

On January 15th 9th coloring challenge started and ended couple days ago. The goal of the challenge was to color something daily even if it's a few minutes. For more information, jump over to Kathy's blog. :o)

Today I want to share with you what I've colored during the 9th 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I didn't managed to color every day and skipped 6 days. I had some extra work in school and couldn't find time or was just too exhausted to color. There were days I colored only couple of minutes and days I colored for hours. Mostly I colored in evenings and at nights, after I finished my daily obligations. I mostly colored with Distress Inks in watercolor technique, my favorite coloring medium and favorite coloring technique. :o)

I shared my daily coloring's on Instagram as the challenge was going on. I had so many difficulties and technical issues with taking photos as the weather was most of the time extremely bad, so I took photos once or twice a week and shared them.

Some of my coloring samples are incorporated into a card and already shared here on my blog as the challenge was going on, but most of them not. Below each photo I added link to a published card, if it's already published. For those unfinished and unpublished, I'll update this post and add links after I publish cards/projects. :o)

Here is a day by day preview. :o)

I had so much fun coloring all these images. I'm very happy that I finally pulled out some stamps I have in my stash for a while but never used them. This challenge was, except a super fun and great relaxation after busy day, also a reminder to use all those pretty stamps I have and didn't use them yet.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Enjoy and smile! :o)
