Happy Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hello everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), Happy Birthday Card:o)

To make this card I used stamps from two adorable Jane's Doodles stamp sets: images from 'Smile' stamp set and a sentiment from 'Belated Birthday' stamp set.

I stamped flowers and leaves on a watercolor paper and colored them in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut flowers and leaves and traced edges with black marker.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper stripe.

With all pieces ready, I arranged everything on a white top folded card base and when I liked my arrangement, I glued everything down. I wanted some dimension on my card, so I used 3-D foam to glue flowers and the sentiment on the card base. I glued leaves directly on the card base, but just the bottom part of each leaf and left top parts unglued. I curled a bit each leave and drew white highlights and dots on flowers and leaves to add more interest to my flowery arrangement.

As a finishing touch, I embellished the card with black enamel dots. :o)
