Your Next Stamp May GDT - Share a Fave

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my fifth guest spot on the Your Next Stamp Blog ('Share a Fave'), where blog readers can learn a bit more about me and my favorites. :o)

If you follow my blog, you already know that I love cute images. Your Next Stamp has tons of them for sure. :o) Among all the cuteness, my favorite is a cute little frog from 'Mini Sticky Note', which I used on my today’s card. I also used a part of one sentiment from 'Honey Bee' stamp set.

And here is my card: Birthday Frogs Card. :o)

Frogs are my favorite lucky animal totems. I have a lovely collection of them. Not real ones, of course, but wooden, stone, plastic.... and stamps. :o)
"Frogs are symbols of prosperity, wealth, friendship, and abundance in many cultures. In other cultures they symbolize fertility. In the Native American culture of the Southwestern United States, the frog carries a piece of wood in its mouth because the Mojave people believe frogs brought fire to humans. For the ancient Romans, the frog was believed to bring good luck to one's home. Native Aborigines of Australia believe that frogs brought the thunder and rain. Frogs are said to be effective in speeding up recovery from disease. Among the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, frogs symbolized inspiration and fertility. In ancient Egypt, Hekt, the frog goddess, protected newborn babies, hence frogs were symbols of fertility and birth. The frog is also said to attract true friends and to help find long-lasting love."

How I made my card...

I randomly stamped the frog from 'Mini Sticky Note' on a watercolor paper panel several times. I colored frogs in a watercolor technique, my favorite coloring technique, using Distress Inks, my favorite coloring medium.

After coloring I left the panel to dry on air. After drying I glued the panel on a white top folded card base.
Then I masked one of the sentiments from the 'Honey Bee' stamp set and heat embossed it in white on a black cardstock paper. I cut the sentiment stripe to a desirable size, glued some 3-D foam on it, glued it on the card and my card was finished. :o)
