Camel Slider Card (IC #15)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you this CAS (clean and simple), Camel Slider Card. :o)

I made this Interactive (IC) SLIDER CARD for my Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces 2019 personal challenge. If you want to find out more about it, just follow the link provided. :o)

This is a FIFTEENTH and last type of IC I made for my challenge. I made 15 different types of interactive cards during Pisces period, which was my personal challenge. I completed my challenge, achieved my goals and had a lot of fun. I wrote a short review about the challenge here.

How I made this card...

To make this card I used stamps from two adorable Paper Smooches stamp sets: a camel from 'Zoo Crew' and a sentiment form 'Sentiment Sampler'. I also used a tiny dots stamp from Create a Smile 'Beach Party' stamp set (part of a kit).

I stamped the camel on a watercolor paper and watercolored her using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the camel and traced edges with a black marker. I stamped another camel on a white cardstock paper, colored her with black marker, fussy cut her, traced edges with black marker and glued watercolored camel over the black one. I did this because the watercolor paper I used is very thin and I needed a thicker image.

Then I prepared a white side folded card base and a white cardstock paper panel, both same size.

As I don't have slider die-cuts, I used tools I have to create slider opening. I die cut two tiny circles on the panel. Then I cut two parallel lines, using a kraft knife and a ruler, from one to another circle and got slider opening.

Next up was a background scene. I was inspired with two cards I made in the past, both CASEd from a super talented Francine Vuillème of 1001 cartes. You can find my cards here and here (Francine's originals here and here).

For the Sun, I used a circle stencil that I made couple years ago from an acetate sheet leftovers, using a circle cutter. I blended Distress Inks through the stencil on the panel.

For the sand, I masked bottom part of the panel with post-it papers and blended a Distress Ink Tea Dye on the panel. Then I stamped tiny dots over the sand to make it more realistic. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on the panel.

For a slider mechanism, I used a square piece of a cardstock paper and a plastic letter bead. I glued the bead on the cardstock square and left it dry for an hour. I didn't use any special glue. I used UHU all purpose liquid glue.

With all parts ready, I assembled the card. I glued a 3-D foam on the back of the panel, placed the slider mechanism on the card base and glued the panel on the card base, making sure the bead was peeking through the slider opening on the panel. Prior I continued, I tested the mechanism. Lastly, I glued the camel on the bead and my card was finished. :o)

Rainbow Stripes Birthday Card Set - Croatian Sentiment (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Happy Friday!!! :o)

My second post today. If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here. :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Rainbow Stripes Birthday Card Set:o)

To make this card set I used a speech bubble stamp from a new Jane's Doodles 'Croatian Sentiments' stamp setSretan rođendan means Happy Birthday. :o)

How I made this card set...

I cut a white cardstock paper and folded card bases, 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". Then I cut 12 3" x 3" squares from the white cardstock paper. I cut one piece of 6" x 6" patterned paper to four same size squares, 3" x 3".

I didn't have enough 3-D foam in my stash, so I stacked squares together. I glued two white squares together and the patterned paper square on top of them. I repeated the same with other squares.

I glued stacked squares on card bases and glued one more white square inside each card to make them sturdier.

Then I stamped the speech bubble four times on the white cardstock paper and fussy cut them out leaving a white thin border around them. I fixed some lines with a black fine liner, glued 3-D foam squares on each speech bubble and placed them on cards.

I embellished cards with various color enamel stickers, used a white cotton thread on one card and left one card "empty". :o)

I love how my cards turned out. :o)

Card measurements: 83 mm x 83 m(3 1/4" x 3 1/4")
