Hi everyone! :o)
My 3rd post today. If you missed previous two just scroll down or follow direct links here and here. :o)
On Friday, November 22nd, 2019, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Snow Globe II Card. :o)
To make this card I CASEd my own card that I made for our latest Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop on November 19th, 2019. I went with same design, card shape and monochromatic color scheme, just used a different sentiment and a different snowman. :o)
I used stamps from two SUPER CUTE Jane's Doodles Christmas/Winter themed stamp sets: a snow globe and a sentiment from 'Snow Globe' and a snowman from 'Winter Icons'.
How I made my card....
With some masking, I stamped the snowman in the snow globe and stamped the sentiment on a snow globe stand. I colored the image in watercolor technique using only one color: Distress Ink Ground Espresso. After drying, I masked the snowman, snow and bottom part of the snow globe. I mixed a white tempera color with a bit of water and, using a paint brush, splattered the snow globe and left it dry on air.
After drying, I fussy cut the snow globe and traced edges with a black marker. I drew glass reflections and highlights with a white pigment ink pen. After the pigment ink dried, I softened the image with a stylus ball on a soft working mat. This curled the image a bit, which gave a bit of dimension to the image.
Then I worked on a snow globe shaped card base. I stamped the snow globe on a white cardstock paper, scored the paper above the snow globe and folded the cardstock in half. Following the snow globe shape, I fussy cut the card base leaving thin white border around the snow globe. I didn't cut the top, as that is the part that holds card base together. I colored the snow globe in black with the black marker, glued the watercolored curled snow globe image over it and my card was finished. :o)
I love how my card turned out!! :o)
