Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces 2017, Part 1

Happy Friday!!! :o)

On February 18th a Pisces period started and my annual challenge, Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces. This is a personal challenge which takes time in Pisces period. Goals of the challenge are to improve my skills.

This year is 3rd year I have this challenge. It started on February 18th at 12:31 PM and will end on March 20th at 11:29 AM. (CET, UTC +1Dubrovnik, Croatia)

I challenged myself to practice hand lettering every day in Pisces period.

Goals of the challenge are to improve my hand lettering skills, to encourage myself to hand letter on my projects and to continue practicing after the challenge ends.

More details about this year's challenge in an Intro post.

Today I'll be sharing with you my hand lettering exercises and samples I made since the challenge started till the end of February (11 days). I practiced every day and must say I'm very satisfied with where this is going. :o)

On a first and second day I practiced in my notebook. I used a black fine liner and dip pen nib and black ink for writing. I wanted to remind myself how the nib is acting, how much pressure it's needed when writing, how much ink has to be on the nib, how often I have to dip the pen in the ink... and also to practice to write all letters same size, thickness, regular and italic, etc. I practiced block letters and cursive handwriting style and doodled a bit.

On days that came after, I hand lettered quotations I like, sentiments... first thing that came on my mind. :o) I used the dip pen nib and drawing ink for writing. I stamped some samples using stamps from various artists. My idea is to make something out of every hand lettered sample something: card, decoration or something else.

I colored only one sample and made a magnet from it. I focused on hand lettering and not coloring and finishing projects. I decided they will be my preparation for a 7th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker, which started on March 1st. I'll be coloring all my samples during Kathy's challenge. For more info, jump to Kathy's blog.

So, in today's 1st preview post (this one) and others that are yet to come, I'll be sharing hand lettered uncolored/unfinished samples. Well, one is finished. :o) After I color and finish them, I'll be sharing them here on my blog in separate posts with detailed description. I'll update this post and link photos in this post to finished project posts.

Here is a day by day preview. :o)
(Click on the photo and it will take you to the finished project post (except days 1&2). If there is no link, my project is not finished and published yet.)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Stop by later today, I'll be sharing two finished projects from today's preview with you. Enjoy and smile! :o)
