I Love Math Challenge #13

Hello everyone and welcome to a new I Love Math Challenge!

This is the thirteenth challenge. If you're new to my blog, you can find all about the challenge here.

A theme for this challenge is picked by our lovely KajaINFINITY.

Infinity in Mathematics is 'a number greater than any assignable quantity or countable number (symbol ∞).'
Source: English Oxford Living Dictionaries (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/infinity)

A very talented crafter from Croatia is joining us in this challenge. It's Željka Jurković-Grižić of Creative world by Zeljka.

Željka is a friend crafter who is following and supporting my blog since I've started blogging. Although we live in same country, we didn't meet in person, yet. I love her crafting style and elegance she gives to her creations. I'm very happy that she accepted my invitation to be a Guest Designer for this challenge and can't wait to meet her in person (same goes to the entire I Love Math Challenge Team). :o)

Here is what Željka said:
'Since I was a little child I loved math ,and in my life I often use it in so many ways...foe example I count my carrot slices,or very often I count how many embellishments I add to my project. So ,when Milka asked me to be her guest designer I was thrilled and honored .
Paper crafting is my passion so is math ,and I often combined those two together.
When Milka told me the theme for this challenge "Infinity " I immediately thought on space-galaxy ...And I made card with the galaxy background...and it was my first time to make it....also Infinity is an countless so my card with the an countless little dots (stars) is.
Thank you Milka for inviting me to be your GD .
Hope you will find some inspiration too with this awesome theme...Hugs...Željka..Creative World.

And here is Željka's GORGEOUS card. LOVE!!! :o)

Gorgeous galaxy card!!!! Colors are just WOW!!! And it's her first galaxy ever made. :o) I LOVE Željka's take on the challenge and her card. ♥ Jump over to Željka's blog and find more details about her card. :o)

And now inspiration from the team...

Here is Kaja's take on the challenge.

Super cuteness overload!!! AMAZING CAS design, layout, color scheme, super cute scene, everything beautifully colored.. ♥ I LOVE Kaja's challenge theme and her take on it. For the infinity she picked galaxy, stars and infinity symbol. LOVE it!!  Jump over to Kaja's blog and find more details about her card. :o)

Here is Neha's take on the challenge.

GORGEOUS!!! Beautiful design, layout, elegant and modern look, soft natural colors... and infinity symbol created using beautiful heart shaped die-cuts. ♥ I love Neha's card and her take on this challenge theme. BRILLIANT!!!!  Jump over to Neha's blog and find more details about her card. :o)

Valentina's take on the challenge will be added here in couple days. :o)

Update

And here is Valentina's take on the challenge. :o)

GORGEOUS!!! Beautiful design, layout, elegant and modern look, beautiful sentiment and script ... and brilliant take on infinity: sand clock, infinity symbol, multiple stamped sentiment. ♥ I love Valentina's card and her take on this challenge theme.  Jump over to Valentina's blog and find more details about her card. :o)

And here is my take on the challenge: Black and White Hello Card.

On my card I used lines to present infinity.

Line definition:

'In common language it is a long thin mark made by a pen, pencil, etc.

In Geometry a line:
• is straight (no bends),
• has no thickness, and
• extends in both directions without end (infinitely).'

How I made this card...

I drawn parallel lines directly on a front panel of a top folded white card base. I used a black fine liner, a ruler and a soft working mat grid for drawing.

When I was satisfied with my line pattern, I stamped a sentiment 'Hello' on a piece of white cardstock paper and cut it to a desirable size. I glued some 3-D foam on the back of the sentiment stripe, glued it on the card and my card was finished. :o)

I like the stripe pattern I drew. I enjoy drawing with geometry drawing tools and should do it more often on my cards.   :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 140 mm  (3 3/4" x 5 1/2")

List of supplies:
  • Jane's Doodles 'Any Occasion' stamp set
  • white cardstock paper
  • Ranger Archival Ink, Jet Black
  • Mitsubishi Uni Pin 0.2
  • Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer
  • acrylic block (102 mm x 102 mm)
  • Xcut self healing working mat
  • bone folder
  • scissors
  • ruler

Now it's your turn...

Create a card using infinity on your card. Any design is welcome.

Here are Kaja's additional information about the challenge:
'You can interpret infinity in different ways. It can contain the infinity symbol (), or it can be galaxy card (since space is so big we don’t know where it ends), or a whole card made with ‘infinity’ of stamped images/die cuts.'

Or you can use lines on your cards, like I did, or anything you come up with. :o)
