Happy New Year Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

It's been quiet here on my blog for nine days. I had super busy schedule last week and a  lot of everything was happening during the weekend and I didn't find any time to blog. Today I'll be posting two times. I'll be sharing two DT projects I had to share last week here on my blog, but as I mentioned, I didn't find the time to do it.

On Monday, January 6th, 2020, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Happy New Year Card:o)

To make this card I went with similar design and layout as on my own card that I shared here on my blog in November 2019 (here).

used stamps from four adorable Jane's Doodles Christmas/Winter themed stamp setsan ornament from 'Deck the Halls', a large background snowflake from 'Winter Icons', small background snowflakes from 'Winter Village' and a sentiment form 'Winter Words'.

How I made my card....

I colored the ornament in November 2019 during Kathy's Racoosin 14th 30 Day Coloring Challenge (preview here)I stamped the ornament on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using only one Distress Ink: Ground Espresso. After drying, I fussy cut the ornament and traced edges with a black marker. I left the image aside for nearly two months until I finally decided how will I use it on this card. :o)

I randomly stamped snowflakes on a Kraft cardstock paper panel in watermark stamping technique using a VersaMark Watermark Ink.

I mixed a white tempera color with a bit of water and, using a paint brush, splattered the panel and left it dry on air.

After the panel was completely dry, I stamped the ornament directly on the panel and colored it with the black marker. I stamped a bow on the ornament and drew a line with a black fine liner.

Then I softened the watercolored ornament with a stylus ball on a soft working mat, which curled a bit the ornament. I did this to add a bit of dimension to the ornament.

I glued the panel on a white top folded card base and glued the watercolored ornament over the black one.

heat embossed in white the sentiment on a black cardstock paper and cut the sentiment to stripes of desirable size. To make the sentiment pop a bit on the card, I glued 3-D foam on the back of sentiment stripes and glued them on the card.

As a finishing touch, I drew white highlights on the ornament and my card was finished. :o)
