Rainbow Colors Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT March Spotlight + BIRC #3)

Hi everyone!! :o)

This is my second post today. If you missed the first one just scroll down or follow a direct link here. I shared my card for new bastel-traum challenge. :o)

This weekend I'll be sharing my Jane's Doodles spotlight projects that I made in March, April and May, but I didn't share them here on my blog yet. Yesterday I shared full list of projects that I'll be sharing (here). Today I'm sharing my March spotlights.

First one today is CAS (clean and simple), Rainbow Colors Birthday Card. It was my spotlight project for Jane's Doodles on my birthday, Monday, March 16th, 2020.  :o)

This Birthday Card (BIRC) is a third card I made for a Celebrating 30 Days of Pisces 2020 personal challenge. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to complete my challenge this year. I will write a wrap up post in couple days.

My card is a CASE (copy and share everything) of my own card that I made three years ago, on March 16th, 2017 (here). I went with same design, layout, used same products, I just reversed colors in a rainbow drip. :o)

To make this card, I used a lovely paint brush image from 'Funny Bunny' stamp set and my favorite birthday sentiment (love that font) from 'Belated Birthday' stamp set.

How I made my card...

I stamped the paint brush on a watercolor paper, colored it with Distress Inks in a watercoloring technique, fussy cut the brush and traced edges with a black marker. I stamped another paint brush  on a white cardstock paper scrap and fussy cut it, leaving white thin border around the brush. I colored the brush in black and glued the watercolored paint brush over it. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is thin and doesn't work well with pop up images. Lastly, I added white highlights with a white pigment ink pen.

I cut a panel from a watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment on the panel. Then I colored the rainbow drip with a lot of water and Distress Inks and dried it with Heat It Tool. After drying, I glued the panel on a white top folded white card base.

Then I glued a foam tape on the back of the paint brush and placed it on the card. As a finishing touch, I coated the rainbow drip and a color on the paint brush tip with a Clear Wink of Stella. Shimmery!!! :o)
