Happy Holidays Card (ATCAS Cards Challenge #190 GDT)

Hi everyone! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at Addicted to CAS for a Challenge #190after I was chosen as CAS perfectionist in their Challenge #187 - One Layer. I love playing Addicted to CAS challenges, as their challenges are all about CAS (clean and simple) cards, my favorite card design. I'm happy challenges are back after half year break. :o)

The Challenge #190 theme is Pattern.

Card design needs to be CAS. Here is a CAS definition from Addicted to CAS Challenge Blog:

Note: there are various CAS cards definitions on various blogs.

And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), Happy Holidays Card. :o)

How I made this card...

First I prepared all parts for my card: a white top folded card base, a patterned paper stripe and die-cut snowflakes.

I stamped a sentiment with a Distress Ink directly on the card base. I inked the sentiment stamp with a VersaMark Watermark Ink, wiped it with my palm, inked the stamp with the Distress Ink Hickory Smoke and pressed the sentiment on the card base. I prefer to do it this way when stamping with Distress Inks, as the stamping results are much better than without using the VersaMark Watermark Ink.

I glued 3-D foam squares on the back of the patterned stripe and glued it on the card. I cut the excess with scissors.

Then I arranged and glued snowflakes along the patterned stripe, using a glue or a 3-D foam square, just to add a bit more dimension to my card.

Easy and quick to create. :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 127 mm (3 3/4" x 5")

List of supplies:

I hope you'll like my take on the challenge and get inspired. :o) Stop by the Addicted to CAS and see amazing CAS creations the Design Team made for this challenge. The challenge is a fortnight challenge, so there is plenty time to share your CAS cards with us. :o) For more information about the challenge and rules, jump over to challenge post at Addicted to CAS. :o)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Stop by later this evening, I'll be posting again. Enjoy and smile! :o)

12 Days of Christmas - Day 10 - Ornament Shaped Reindeer Card

Happy Friday! :o)

My second post today. If you missed the first one, just scroll down, or follow a direct link here.

Welcome to 10th Day of my 12 Days of Christmas Series. I took a short break with sharing my series here with you (again). I had doctors' appointments and some tests to run and was too tired to write blog posts since Monday.

Today I want to share with you this Ornament Shaped Reindeer Card.

To make this card, I was inspired with my cards that I shared on Monday here on my blog (here).

How I made the card...

First I die cut all parts from a white cardstock paper

I die cut an ornament three times. I used only frames, rest I left for other projects. I glued together frames (stacked frame die-cuts) and left them aside.

Then I die cut a reindeer three times, glued them together and left them aside.

Then I die cut a hanger two times and glued them together.

I used negative part of the die-cut ornament as a stencil. I traced the ornament shape twice on the white cardstock paper and cut them out. I used them to create a card base, but first I ink blended Distress Inks directly on one ornament shape panel. When I was satisfied with the color, I splattered the panel with a water, dabbed the surface with a paper towel and left the panel to dry on air. Then I mixed a white tempera color with a bit of water, splattered the panel and again left it dry on air.

After drying, all parts for my card were ready. I assembled the card. I glued two ornament shapes on the top and got the card base. Then I glued the frame on the card base, glued the stacked reindeer in the center of ornament shape glued the stacked hanger on the top of the ornament and my card was finished. I really like how my card turned out. :o)

Hi everyone! :o)

Welcome to 9th Day of my 12 Days of Christmas Series.

Today I want to share with you these two CAS (clean and simple) Reindeer Cards.

To make these cards, I CASEd (copied and shared everything) my own card that I shared here on my blog in November 2020 (here). I went with same design, color scheme, used same techniques and products, I just worked directly on card bases on today's cards. :o)

Then I mixed a white tempera color with a bit of water, splattered the card base and again left it dry on air.

Then I die cut three reindeer in the white cardstock paper and glued them together (stacked them). I glued stacked reindeer on the card and my card was finished. :o)

I repeated same for the second card, I just rotated the layout. :o) I really like this color combination and card design. :o)

Vertical Card measurements: 95 mm x 127 mm (3 3/4" x 5")

12 Days of Christmas - Day 8 - Sretan Božić Card

Hi everyone! :o)

Welcome to 8th Day of my 12 Days of Christmas Series.

Today I want to share with you this Sretan Božić Card

To make this card, I CASEd (copied and shared everything) my own card that I shared couple days ago here on my blog (here). I went with same design, layout, color scheme, used same techniques and stamp sets, I just went with some different stamped images and a different sentiment. :o)

Sretan Božić is a Croatian sentiment and it means Merry Christmas. :o)

How I made my card....

First I created a background panel. I randomly stamped images on a Kraft paper panel in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink.

Then I splattered the panel with a white tempera color mixed with a bit of water and left the panel to dry on air.

After drying, I glued the panel on a white side folded card base.

Next up was the sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper, cut the sentiment to a desirable size stripe, glued 3-D foam squares on the back of the sentiment stripe and glued it on the card and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 121 mm x 89 mm (4 3/4" x 3 1/2")

Jane's Doodles Release Blog Hop

Happy Friday! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Release Blog HopToday we are featuring two new stamp sets released into the store. :o)

SUPER CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!! Love love LOVE!!!!! :o)

And here is what I prepared for today: Penguin Skating Sour Cream Container Gift Box using a super cute penguin stamp from the 'Sweater Weather' stamp set and snowflakes stamps form various Jane's Doodles stamp sets. :o)

How I made this Sour Cream Container Gift Box...

First I created a patterned paper that I used to fold the container. I stamped randomly snowflakes on a Kraft paper in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink. Then I cut a rectangle size 3" x 6" from it.

I mixed a white tempera color with a bit of water and splattered the snowflakes patterned paper and left it dry on air.

After drying, I folded the container. I found great photo tutorial here. I folded the container following the tutorial. I left one side of the container unglued and open to fill it with sweets or something else later.

Next up was the penguin. I stamped the penguin on a watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique with Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the penguin and traced edges with a black marker.

Then I stamped the penguin again on a white cardstock paper. I colored him with a grey marker and fussy cut him, leaving thin white border around the penguin. I glued watercolored penguin over the grey one. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin and I needed thicker image.

Then I drew white highlights on the penguin using a white gel pen.

If you follow my blog, you know I love dimension on my projects. This one was no exception. :o) I glued 3-D foams on the back of the penguin and glued him on the box.

As a finishing touch, I pierced a hole on the unglued part of the container and closed it with a brad. :o)

I love how my Sour Cream Container Gift Box turned out!! :o) I'm sure I'll make more of these to have them by hand to give some treats and sweets to my nieces or to pack tiny gifts inside for my family and friends. :o)

At the bottom of this post you can find detailed supply lists for my today's project. Link to this post will be in a right sidebar until the Blog Hop ends. :o)
