Announcement (I Love Math Challenge #3)

Happy Friday! :o)

I hope you're all doing fine.

New, I Love Math Challenge #3 will start on October 7th 2016, 8:00 PM CEST (UTC +2) and will last for a month, until November 7th 2016, 7:55 PM CET (UTC +1).

If you are new to my blog, or haven't red about the challenge, here are basic information about it.

The idea behind:
To combine my two greatest passions together: Math and Crafts. Also to show Math isn't the worst thing in the world. :o)

In each challenge I'll create a project, describe how I made it and/or create an inspiration board. Something mathematical will be included in each challenge. :o)

My plan is to hold challenges at least two times a year. I'll announce new challenge two weeks before it starts. (Well, I'm late with this announcement, so new challenge starts in a week.)

Birthday Panda Shaker Card (Kitty Bee Designs Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs and I made this CAS (clean and simple), masculine, Birthday Panda Shaker Card.

This shaker card was so easy and quick to create.

I used super cute 'Panda Love' from 2013 January Panda Releases. Yes, again. These Pandas are melting my heart. Fun and cute, easy to color and great for CAS designs. Love them all! :o)

I printed the panda on a white cardstock paper, stamped circles around his eyes, colored them with black marker, as well as panda's muzzle, fussy cut the panda and colored edges with black marker.

I cut a white carstock panel, same size as a card base, and cut out circle window on it. I stamped a sentiment below the window and glued piece of acetate on the back of the panel to close the window. I glued foam tape on the back of the panel, filled the window with shaker elements and glued it on the card base.

I love dimension on my cards, so I glued 3-D foams on the Panda and placed him on the card. As a finishing touch, I added white highlights on the Panda's muzzle and my card was finished. :o)

Origami Corner Bookmarks (Fairy Tale Challenge #152)

Hi everyone! :o)

Yesterday a new challenge started at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Our theme for this fortnight is #152, Lesezeichen / Bookmarks.

This time our lucky winner will win this adorable rubber stamp set from our sponsor Betty's Creations.

For this challenge I made Origami Corner Bookmarks.

Origami Corner Bookmarks are very easy and fun to create. There are minimum requirements to make them: square paper and your hands. :o) You can find great video tutorial here.

I love Origami. I haven't fold Origami something for such a long time and I needed some bookmarks for my Physics note book. Folding these Origami Corner Bookmarks was a nice practice. They are very useful, because I don't have to look through whole notebook to find a lesson. I also like that they're not thick, so my notebook doesn't look bulky. :o)

My note book is actually a planner. I got it from my colleague, English teacher. It has gorgeous covers and a lot of pages for taking notes. Love it! :o)

Gratitude, Mixed Media Decoration Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Welcome Autumn!!! 

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Mixed Media Decoration Card, Gratitude. :o)

First I cut a rectangle cardstock base. This is a recycled item. I cut it out from a watercolor paper pad package. I rarely throw away cardstock and try to reuse it for new projects or as a crafting mat. :o)

I used Note Sheet patterned paper as a background, colored it with different mediums and when I was satisfied with the color, I glued it on the cardstock base and rounded corners.

Then I stamped pumpkins and sentiment from Jane's Doodles 'Autumn Blessings' Stamp Set on the card. I did some masking on pumpkins. I colored pumpkins and ground below them with different mediums and added golden highlights with gold pen on pumpkins and around letters. I also drew golden dots all over the card. I'm not a fan of gold color and rarely use it, but it looked so nice in this autumnal color combination. Once I started adding highlights and dots I couldn't stop. :o)

Using stencil and structure paste I made circles. Before adding it on the card, I colored structure paste with different Distress Inks.

I used découpage glue and varnish due crafting process to fix colors and layers.

With Gratitude Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #151)

Hi everyone! :o)

On Tuesday, September 13th, a new challenge started at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog. I haven't played our challenges for the whole summer. With my summer job and all other stuff that were going on in my life, I had to take a shorter break from our challenges. I'm a bit late with posting my project for the current one, but there's still enough time for you to join. :o)

Our theme for this fortnight is #151, Blätter fallen / Falling leaves.

This time our lucky winner will win this beautiful die-cut.

For this challenge I made this CAS (clean and simple), With Gratitude Card.

For this cards I used Jane's Doodles 'Autumn Blessings' stamp set.

For my card layout I used sketch from Task for Two Tuesday Challenge. I like this sketch a lot and is perfect for CAS cards.

My first intention was to create one layer card. I masked a card base with micropore tape, leaving stripe uncovered, just as shown on the sketch. Then I blended Distress Inks directly on the card base, sprayed and splattered distressed part with water and dried it with heat tool. I repeated blending and splattering process three times.

When I was satisfied with color, I randomly stamped leaves on the colored part. After I removed micropore tape, my blended stripe was not straight. I didn't want to throw it away, so I cut it out, straight this time. :o)

 I glued the stripe on a black cardstock paper and glued it on a new card base.

I stamped the sentiment on the card base, added couple of black enamel dots and my card was finished. :o)

Sending Sunshine Card

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you CAS (clean and simple), Sending Sunshine Card I made a while ago but didn't find time to share it. :o)

My card is a CASE of gorgeous card made by Francine Vuillème of 1001 cartes. Beautiful color scheme, lovely nautical scene, fantastic CAS design! LOVE! :o)

A week ago I shared a card, also CASE of Francine's card. You can find it here. :o)

Francine is a very talented and creative crafty friend from Switzerland. I love her crafting style. Her simple design and stunning coloring blows me away every time she shares a new card. :o)

I used same products on my card as Francine did, created the same scene, layout and color scheme, but I went with paper piecing a sailboat and used design paper for sail. I went with one layer, while Francine added some design paper at the bottom of her card. :o)

And now, how I made my card...

I started with the sailboat from Create a Smile 'Underwater Love' stamp set. It's paper pieced. I stamped the sailboat twice on a watercolor paper and colored all the parts in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. Then I stamped one more image on a design paper from Create a Smile 'Beach Party' kit. I fussy cut all parts and colored their edges with black Stabilo Marker.

Next up was a background. I used two handmade stencils. For the Sun I used circle stencil I made from an acetate sheet using circle cutter. For the sea I made stencil from a cardstock paper. I used scalloped paper puncher to make this one. Using stencils, I blended colors directly on a top folded white cardstock paper card base.

When I was satisfied with the background, I stamped the sailboat on the card base and colored it with black marker. I glued all pieces together, added 3-D foams on their back and glued them over the sailboat stamped on the card base.

Here is a photo before assembling all pieces together.

Next up was a sentiment. I used a speech bubble from Create a Smile 'Perfect Tune' stamp set. I masked word 'Danke' and stamped it with VersaMark Watermark Ink on a white cardstock paper. I cut out the speech bubble and stamped a sentiment from Create a Smile 'Sending Sunshine' kit on it. I glued 3-D foams on the back of the speech bubble and glued it on the card.

Coupe of enamel dots as a finishing touch, and my card was finished. :o)
