Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop

Hello everyone!! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog HopToday we are featuring three new stamp sets released into the store. :o)

Aren't they GORGEOUS!! LOVE!!! :o)

For today I prepared only one card. Due to some unexpected situation, I didn't have time to create something with 'Homemade' stamp set, which is my personal favorite from this release. :o)

And here is what I created...

Magnolias Card using stamps from gorgeous 'Magnolia' and 'Bless You Heart' stamp sets.

I made this cards for my cousin, who will have her Confirmation soon. :o)

How I made my card...

I stamped in black gorgeous quotation on a white cardstock paper panel. Beautiful lettering and quotation!!! :o)

Then I heat embossed in clear magnolias on the panel, one by one, that's the safest when I'm heat embossing.

Next up was ink blending. I blended the whole panel with Distress Inks, applying colors with gentle pressure.

For magnolias, I used handmade stencil. I stamped a magnolia flower on a piece of cardstock paper and cut it out. I used negative as a stencil/mask, which allowed me to blend magnolias with different color.

After blending, I glued the panel on a white top folded card base. As a finishing touch, I drew white dots with white gel pen. :o)

I'm very satisfied how my card turned out, hope my cousin will like it too. I will definitely recreate this card in future. :o)

At the bottom of this post you can find card measurements and detailed supply lists for this card. Link to this post will be in a right sidebar (Featured Post), until the Blog Hop ends. :o)

And now to the Blog Hop prize...

Cute Cow Card (Kitty Bee Designs Spotlight)

    http://kittybeedesigns.blogspot.com/

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs and I made this Cute Cow Card. :o)

For my card I used a super fun 'Kal-Bi Cow (Bee)' digital stamp digital image. So cute and fun!! :o) And there are more cute cow images in the store. :o)

I went with similar design as on my own card I made in January this year for KBD, Coffee Panda Card. :o)

I printed the cow on a watercolor paper and left the ink set through the night. Next day I colored the cow in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the cow, traced edges with black marker and softened parts with a stylus ball on a soft working mat.

The watercolor paper I use is too thin, so I printed one more sow on a white cardstock paper, colored the cow with black marker, fussy cut her leaving white border around her and glued colored cow over the black one (paper piecing). Thicker. :o)

Then I stamped a sentiment from Paper Smooches 'Chubby Chums' stamp set on a side folded white card base and drew frame with a black fine liner. I glued some 3-D foam on the back of the cow, glued her on the card and my card was finished. :o)

For You Shaker Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

    Hi everyone! :o)

It's been quiet for a while here on my blog. I had some extra school activities and classes last two weeks, field trip class... I focused on my work and planing school activities and put crafting and blogging aside for a bit. I also start to work in my balcony garden. :o)

Yesterday was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this For You Shaker Card:o)

For my card I used stamps from two BEAUTIFUL Jane's Doodles stamp sets: Life is Good and Doodle Flowers.

    How I made my card...

I stamped a jar on a rainbow patterned paper and cut it out with scissors (I left a lid uncut). I traced the edges and colored the lid with a black marker. Then I glued acetate sheet on the panel to close a window.

I stamped another jar on a top folded card base, glued 3-D foam on the panel, filled the jar with sequins and glued the rainbow panel on the card base.

Then I stamped another lid on a pink patterned paper, cut it out, glued 3-D foam on the lid and glued it over the black one.

To make card sturdier, I glued a white cardstock paper panel inside the card.

I struggled with a sentiment and had no idea where to put it. Without the sentiment, there was just something missing and didn't like it. Finally I decided to stamp the sentiment directly on the acetate sheet. I fixed some lines with a black fine liner and my card was finished. :o)

    Card dimensions: 95 mm x 127 mm (3 3/4" x 5")

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I'm sharing this Across the Universe Card II:o)

To create this card I was inspired by a song 'Across the Universe' by The Beatles, comic books and a card I created in January: Across the Universe Card. :o)

I colored the scene during the 9th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker. I shared progress of coloring on my Instagram account as well as in my preview post (here), but didn't share finished card until today. :o)

After coloring and drying, I masked images and splattered the panel with a white acrylic paint mixed with water. I left the panel dry on air.

I glued the panel on a white side folded card base and my card was finished. :o)

After the Rain Card II (Fairy Tale Challenge #191)

    Hello everyone! :o)

It's time for a new challenge over at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Our theme for this fortnight is #191, Aprilwetter / April Weather, raining cats and dogs.

And here is my take on the challenge: After the Rain Card II.

To make my card I used super cute LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Polka Dot Pals Rayne' digital stamp.

I printed the image on a watercolor paper and left it dry for a day. I colored the image in watercolor technique using Distress Inks.

I partly colored the image during the 9th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker.

As I wasn't sure what I want to do with the image, I left the image until inspiration arrives (I was totally in Rainbow colors for a while :o) ).

Couple days ago, I pulled the image out, as it's totally fitting to our challenge, and finished coloring. I decided to go with similar design as on a card I made last year (here), using same image, quotation and font.

I already had a card layout on my computer from my last year's card, I just moved quotation on the bottom of the card. When I liked a new layout, I printed it out on a white cardsotck paper base.

Then I fussy the watercolored image, traced edges with a black marker, glued the image on the card over the uncolored image and my card was finished. :o)

    Card dimensions: 89 mm x 120 mm (3 1/2" x 4 3/4")

    List of supplies:
    • LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Polka Dot Pals Rayne' digital stamp
    • 1942 Report Font (Important: Read licences before downloading.)
    • white cardstock paper
    • watercolor paper
    • Tim's Holtz Distress Inks:
