Jane's Doodles DT Spotlights

Hi everyone! :o)

I hope you're all well and healthy, as well as your loved ones. :o)

It's been three months since I've shared my DT spotlight project for Jane's Doodles here on my blog (except this one).

There is a lot of going on in my life and I didn't find enough time and strength to blog and I piled several projects that I didn't share here on my blog yet.

My projects were shared on Jane's Doodles blog and on my Instagram account, but not here. I will share them through this weekend here on my blog, all in separate posts, if nothing unexpected occurs.

Just to keep everything in chronological order, I made a plan of sharing:
  • Saturday, October 3rd - AUGUST SPOTLIGHT PROJECTS
  • Sunday, October 4th Wednesday, October 7th - SEPTEMBER SPOTLIGHT PROJECTS

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Enjoy and smile! :o)

Thanks a Latte Pumpkin Card (CASology Week #375)

Hi everyone! :o)

It's time for a new challenge over at CASology. This fortnight's cue word is Spice. :o)

We also have a sponsor for this challenge: Your Next Stamp. Find all details about the prize over at CASology blog.

And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), Thanks a Latte Pumpkin Card. :o)

Design defined:
Adding dimension and some patterned paper gives a CAS card special interest.

How I made my card..

To make my card I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp sets: an image from 'Pumpkin Spice' and a sentiment from 'Coffee Time'.

First I stamped a coffee cup on a watercolor paper and colored it with in watercolor technique using Stabilo Fibre Tip Pens (Markers), a Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade, a fine rounded paint brush and water. I drew dots with an orange Stabilo Fibre Tip Pen.

After drying, I fussy cut the coffee cup and traced edges with a black marker. I stamped another coffee cup on a white cardstock paper scrap, colored it with the black marker and fussy cut it, leaving a thin white border around it. Then I glued the watercolored coffee cup over it. I did this because the watercolor paper I use is very thin and I needed a thicker image.

With the finished image, I assembled my card. I glued a patterned paper stripe on a white top folded card base. I stamped the sentiment on a white cardstock paper panel and glued it on the card base.

Lastly, I glued some 3-D foam squares on the image, glued it on the card and my card was finished. :o)

Happy Fall Mini Circle Card (bastel-traum challenge #93)

Hi everyone! :o)

It's time for a new challenge over at bastel-traum and our theme for the challenge #93 is Autumn/Fall. :o)

The challenge starts today, September 15th, 2020, at 9 AM, CEST (UTC +2) and ends on October 15th, 2020, at 8:55 AM, CEST (UTC +2). Find all the details about the challenge, rules and prizes in a challenge post (here).

And here is my take on the challenge: Happy Fall Mini Circle Card. :o)

To make this card I was inspired with my own card that I created last year (here).

I used stamps from a super adorable Gerda Steiner Designs 'Happy Fall' stamp set, that I won in April 2017 from GSD. :o)

How I made my card....

First I created a background panel. I stamped randomly leaves and an acorn on a Kraft paper in watermark stamping technique using VersaMark Watermark Ink. Then I die cut a wonky stitched circle from the paper and stamped a sentiment in black on it.

Then I made a card base. I cut two circles from a white cardstock paper and glued them together on the top.

I glued the panel on the circle card base.

Next up were images. I stamped an adorable happy squirrel, leaves and acorns on a watercolor paper and colored them in watercolor technique with Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut images and traced their edges with a black marker.

Then I stamped same images again on a white cardstock paper. I colored images with the black marker and a black fine liner and fussy cut them, leaving thin white border around them. I glued watercolored images over the grey ones. I did this to make images thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

I love dimension on my cards. I glued 3-D foams (2 different thickness) on each image, glued images on the card and my card was finished. I love how my card turned out!! :o)

I Love Books Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Happy Friday! :o)

On Wednesday, September 9th, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles Blog and I made this CAS (clean and simple), one layer, I Love Books Card. :o)

On Monday, September 7th, school started here in Croatia. I made this card for my niece Tea (10) who is a 4th grader. She loves Harry Potter, so I created kind of wizard's book on this card for her. She loved it. :o)

To make my card I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp sets: a book and a sentiment from 'Read All About It' and a star from 'Happy Camper'.

How I made my card ....

On my card I went with masking. I masked a girl from the set and stamped the book directly on a white top folded card base. Also with some masking, I stamped the sentiment below the book.

I masked the stamped book and stamped stars on book's covers.

After stamping, I colored the book with Distress Inks and a Wink of Stella Clear Brush. I pressed each ink pad on an acrylic block, picked up colors with the Wink of Stella Brush and colored the book.

To add more shimmer, I coated whole book one more time with the Wink of Stella Clear Brush and my super simple one layer card was finished. :o)

Cards measurements: 89 mm x 121 m(3 1/2" x 4 3/4")

List of supplies:
  • Jane's Doodles 'Read All About It' stamp set (book and sentiment)
  • Jane's Doodles 'Happy Camper' stamp set (star)
