13 Days of Halloween - Day 13 - Tangerine Pumpkins

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I'll be sharing three posts here on my blog.

In my first post today, I'm bringing DAY 13 (and the last day) of the 13 Days of Halloween series with these Tangerine Pumpkins. :o)

To make these tangerine pumpkins I went with the same design like last year (here). Inspiration to make these tangerine pumpkins was originally from Pinterest.

I bought tangerines on a market. They came from a part of Croatia called the Neretva valley. I personally find them the most tasty tangerines and prefer to buy and eat just those. :o)

"Tangerines from the Neretva Valley is a specific product whose name was registered under the Protected Designation of Origin, and is based on the uniqueness of this product that is the result of specific environmental factors present in the Neretva Valley and the farming tradition."

How I made tangerine pumpkins....

I cleaned tangerines with a clean dry kitchen cloth, to remove any dirt from the surface.

I glued googly eyes, each different size, directly on tangerines. Then I drew mouths and stitches with a black permanent fine liner on each tangerine and they were finished. :o)

Super easy and fun to create. I made more of them, but I gave them away or they were eaten prior photographing. :o) Love how they turned out!!! :o)

List of supplies:
  • tangerines
  • self adhesive googly eyes
  • Staedtler Lumocolor permanent M
  • clean dry kitchen cloth

And that is my last project from my 13 Days of Halloween series. I hope you enjoyed in the series and got inspired. :o)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Stop by in an hour, I'll share my 2nd post today. Enjoy and smile! :o)

13 Days of Halloween - Day 12 - Spooky Night Card

Hi everyone! :o)

Today I'm bringing DAY 12 of the 13 Days of Halloween series with this Spooky Night Card. :o)

To make this card I was inspired with a GORGEOUS Halloween card made by Yainea of My Paper Journey. Amazing color combination!!! Thank you for the inspiration Yainea!!! ♥

How I made my card....

To make my card I used stamps from a  Jane's Doodles 'Haunted House' stamp set and a circle die cut from Sizzix Big Shot starter kit.

First I made masks. I die cut a circle from a post-it paper for the Moon mask. Then I stamped a tree on the post-it paper and fussy cut it.

Then I stamped the tree on a white cardstock paper panel. I masked the tree and glued the circle where I wanted the Moon to be.

Next up was ink blending. I ink blended the panel with Distress Inks (full supply list below). I splattered the panel with a water and dried the panel with a heating tool. I ink blended the panel again, splattered it and dried it. I ink blended it again until I was satisfied with the color. :o)

After I ink blended the panel, I removed masks and ink blended the tree and the Moon with a Distress Ink Black Soot. I pressed just a bit to get light shades.

When I was satisfied with colors, I stamped in black three bats on the panel.

I wanted to use a black cardstock card base for this card, but I didn't have any black cardstock large enough to make the card base from it, so I used a white cardstock paper. I folded a top folded card base and ink blended sides of the front with the Distress Ink Black Soot. I did this to hide white edges of the card base, as the panel didn't look well on it. After drying, I glued the panel on the card base and my card was finished. :o)

13 Days of Halloween - Day 11 - Black Mice Wall Decorations

Hi everyone!!! :o

Today I'm bringing DAY 11 of the 13 Days of Halloween series with these Black Mice Wall Decorations. :o)

Although it's not common here in Croatia to celebrate Halloween, my honey and I celebrate it each year, as it's our anniversary. :o) I made these mice wall decorations (and other decorations) to decorate our apartment for the Halloween night. :o)

Original idea is from Martha Stewart Paper Mice Halloween Decorations (here). This year I used different mice template (see below).

I made these kind of wall decorations previous years for Halloween, because mice wall decorations are my honey's favorite Halloween decorations. :o)

Here are the links to blog posts where I shared Halloween ambiance photos previous years:

I didn't share any photos anywhere for year 2017. Last year, 2018, I didn't decorate our apartment for Halloween because we were moving out from apartment in a month to another part of Croatia. I'm so glad we did. :o)

How I made these decorations...

To make these wall decorations I used free Mice Silhouette Vector template, Vectors by Vecteezy.

I downloaded the template on my computer. I printed the template on a white cardstock paper (A4) using my printer.

I left the printout aside for 20 minutes, to let the ink dry completely. Then I fussy cut all mice.

Lastly, I decorated walls with mice. I glued tiny piece of a double sided self adhesive tape on the back side of each mouse and glued them on walls. :o)

List of supplies:

I really like how they look in action. :o)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Enjoy and smile! :o)

13 Days of Halloween - Day 10 - Black&White Bats Candle Light Shades

Happy Friday!!! :o

Today I'm bringing DAY 10 of the 13 Days of Halloween series with these B&W Bats Candle Light Shades. :o)

Although it's not common here in Croatia to celebrate Halloween, my honey and I celebrate it each year. I made these candle light shades (and other decorations) to decorate our apartment for Halloween night. I made 13 candle light shades, symbolic, as we started to date in the Halloween night 13 years ago. :o)

I made these kind of candle light shades in the past and shared a tutorial here on my blog (here). I went with same design, just used white paper this year and went with stamping instead of tracing stencils.

How I made these candle light shades...

I cut a white printing paper into rectangles measured 210 mm x 88.9 mm.

I randomly stamped bats from Jane's Doodles 'Haunted House' stamp set in black on each rectangle.

When the ink dried, I glued two shorter sides of rectangles together to form a cylinder shape and my super simple candle light shades were ready to use.

List of supplies:
  • Jane's Doodles 'Haunted House' stamp set
  • white printing paper
  • Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black)
  • acrylic block (102 mm x 102 mm)
  • double sided self adhesive tape
  • Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer
  • scissors

I really like how they look when tea light candles are lightened inside. :o)

Although they look amazing when candles lightened, I never leave these kind of projects unsupervised and never forget about safety when using candles of any kind (inside or outside).

If you decide to make your own and use them, please bare in mind that you are using these at your own risk. I can't and won't be responsible if anything goes wrong. NEVER ever forget about safety when using candles!!!

Safety notice:
  • usage at your own risk
  • for tea light candles only
  • indoor usage only
  • not for children of any age
  • do not leave unsupervised
  • always be in the same room as your lighten tea light candles
  • turn off candles when leaving the room

Safer option would be probably to use these light shades with LED tea light candles. I don't know if they give that dancing light as a regular tea light candles, because I never tried them.
Despite the fact that LED tea light candles are kind of safer than regular ones, I recommend all safety precautions when using them. Sadly, quality of products nowadays, especially electronics, can be very poor, so we must be careful when using them to avoid dangerous and unwanted situations.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Enjoy and smile! :o)
