Bee Card (Kitty Bee Designs Spotlight)

http://kittybeedesigns.blogspot.com/

Happy Friday! :o)

On Wednesday, May 29th, 2019, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs and I made this mini square Bee Card. :o)

For my card I used an ADORABLE Kitty Bee Designs 'Bumblebee Cutie' digital image. This is a third card I made using this image. You can find first two one here and here. :o)

How I made my card....

I printed the bumblebee on a watercolor paper and left it dry through the night to prevent ink smearing while coloring.

Next day, I colored the bumblebee in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the bumblebee and traced edges with a black marker.

Then I ink blended a white square cardstcok panel with Distress Inks Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber. I splattered the panel with water, dried it and repeated the process (ink blending, splattering). I completely dried the panel and printed the bumblebee on the panel.

Next up was die cutting. I went with inlay die cutting technique. I used a honeycomb die and die cut two pieces in a white cardstock paper. Then I die cut two honeycombs in the panel.

With all parts ready, I assembled the card. I glued the panel on a white top folded square card base. Then I glued all die cut pieces in place. I drew lines that I cut away with a black fine liner and glued watercolored pieces on the panel, over the bee printed on it (paper piecing).

As a finishing touch, I drew white dots on bumblebee's wings and panel with a white pigment ink and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 86 mm x 86 mm (3 3/8" x 3 3/8")

Your Next Stamp May GDT - Farewell

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my seventh and last guest spot on the Your Next Stamp Blog this month. I can't believe May is nearly over. Thank you Karen, Julie and whole Your Next Stamp Design Team for having me!!! It was a wonderful experience and I had a lot of fun. :o)

You can find all projects I made for Your Next Stamp May Guest position on my blog page, here. :o)

For my last guesting post I decided to create a bee themed card. I used stamps from 'Honey Bee' stamp set and a mini honeycomb die from 'Honey Drip and Honeycomb Combo' die set. Super cuteness overload!!! LOVE!!!!

And here is my card: Just BEE-cause Card. :o)

How I made my card...

I ink blended a white cardstock panel with Distress Inks, Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber. I splattered the panel with water, dried it, ink blended and splattered it with water again. I mixed both Distress Inks with water and splattered the panel. When I was satisfied with color, I dried the panel.

Then I worked on a honeycomb. I glued a white cardstock paper on a white one sided sticker sheet and die cut the honeycomb 10 times. I glued die cuts on the panel, cut off the excess and glued the panel on a white top folded card base.

Next up was an adorable bee. I stamped the bee on the white cardstock paper, colored it in grey and fussy cut it leaving a thin white border around it. Then I stamped another bee on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. I fussy cut the bee, traced edges with a black marker and glued the watercolored bee over the grey one. I did this to make the image thicker, because the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

I heat embossed a sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper, cut the stripe to a desirable size, glued some foam on the back of the sentiment and glued it on the card. Lastly, I glued some foam on the back of the bee, glued the bee on the card and my card was finished. :o)

Your Next Stamp May GDT - May Release Special Post

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my sixth guest spot on the Your Next Stamp Blog and I'm sharing a card made with another stamp set from a new May Release (find all YNS new products here). :o)

You can find cards I made using other YNS May Release products here and here. :o)

For my today's card I used a super cute stork and baby image and lovely sentiment (adorable font ) from 'Baby Blessings' stamp set. Super cuteness overload!!! LOVE it!!!

And here is my card: Welcome Little One Card. :o)

I made this card for my cousin's son, Luka. I'm visiting my cousin tomorrow, to meet her adorable baby boy who came to this World on April 1st.  :o)

    How I made my card...

I ink blended a white cardstock panel with various blue tone Distress Inks. When I was satisfied with the color, I trimmed the panel a bit, because I didn't like edges. I stamped the image and the sentiment directly on the panel. I colored the image with a black fine liner.

Then I mixed a white tempera color with some water, splattered the panel and left it dry on air.

While the panel was drying, I stamped the image on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. I messed up stork's legs, so I stamped another image and watercolored only stork's legs.

After drying, I fussy cut images (parts I needed) and traced edges with a black marker.

I glued the panel on a white side folded card base. Then I glued fussy cut image pieces (2) on the panel, over the black colored image, and my card was finished. :o)
