The theme for this fortnight is #120, Flip Flops.
You can create whatever you like (card, scrapbook layout, 3-D project etc.), using any technique you like. We just want to see flip-flops or some other summer shoes on your project. :-D
For this challenge I made this CAS (clean and simple), Summer Card.
Image is paper pieced. I used two same images for this card.
I printed the image on a white paper (160 grams), colored it with colored pencils and blended colors with paper stumps and baby oil.
TIP: When blending colors with a baby oil and paper stumps, make sure your paper stump isn't too wet. If so, your paper will be oily and you'll not be able to see the results immediately.
After drying, I fussy cut the image and colored edges with black permanent marker.
TIP: When fussy cutting, first cut away large pieces of paper and then cut on the lines. Rotate paper, it will be much easier to cut around tiny details.
I printed one more image on a white cardstock paper (white panel), colored girl's pigtails and glued colored image over it.
TIP: Color edges of fussy cut image with black pen or marker. This way you'll hide white edges and any white space you didn't cut off. Your paper pieced image will look much better.
I covered sunglasses, rubber bands, popsicle and flip-flops with gloss resin to create glossy accents.
TIP: You can create glossy accents on your cards not only with Ranger's product Glossy Accents. I use gloss resin super-clear or transparent varnish with gloss. I pour medium on a piece of paper and add it on the parts I want with crafting needle. You can also use toothpicks, sewing needle etc.
I used scraps from various papers, glued them and white panel with image on the card base and embellished card with polyresin starfish.
TIP: Don't throw away any paper. Even the smallest pieces can be used for something.
