Summer Holidays Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #124)

It´s time for a new challenge at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

The theme for this fortnight is #124, Sommer Urlaub / Summer Holidays.

Here is my card, Summer Holidays Card.

Image is paper pieced and it has two layers.

I printed one image on a white 120 grams paper, colored the image (except hair) with colored pencils and blended colors using dry paper stump.

I colored Wryn's hair in watercoloroing technique, using Distressed Inks (Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain), fine paint brush and water. I'm very satisfied with the result. :-D
TIP: When watercoloring image printed on printer, try to avoid black lines to prevent printer ink smearing. 

After drying, I fussy cut the image and colored edges with black pen. I left few flaps on the bottom part of the image.
TIP: When fussy cutting, first cut away large pieces of paper and then cut on the lines. Rotate paper, it will be much easier to cut around tiny details. Color edges of fussy cut image with black pen or marker. This way you'll hide white edges and any white space you didn't cut off and your paper pieced image will look much better. 

Then I printed the second image on a white cardstock paper and cut out the size of a panel I wanted. I cut few lines on the image with craft knife to create small gaps and colored the whole panel with Distress Inks (Broken China, Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky) using blending tool.

After the panel was completely dry, I glued fussy cut image over the image on the panel and inserted flaps in cut out gaps.

At the end I glued a yellow design paper panel and colored panel on a card base, decorated card with chipboard which I previously colored with Distressed Inks (Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade) and glued few enamel stickers on a card.

Card dimensions are 107 mm x 139 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").
