Bee Happy Circle Card (Jane's Doodles DT May Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

This weekend I'm sharing my Jane's Doodles spotlight projects that I made in March, April and May, but I didn't share them here on my blog yet. On Thursday I shared full list of projects that I'll be sharing (here). Today I'm sharing two cards, my May spotlights. :o)

First one today is this Bee Happy Circle CardIt was my spotlight project for Jane's Doodles on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020.  :o)

To make this card I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp sets: a bee from 'Spring Icons' and a sentiment from discontinued stamp set 'Boris the Bunny'.

How I made my card....

First I made a card base. I cut two circles from a white cardstock paper and glued them together on the top.

Then I ink blended a piece of white cardstock paper with Distress Inks Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber. I splattered the surface with water, dried it and ink blended the surface again. I repeated the process one more time. When I was satisfied with the color, I die cut a wonky stitched circle from the ink blended cardstock piece.

I stamped the bee on the circle panel and colored the bee in black with a black marker. I drew a flying path with a pencil, traced the line with a black fine liner and erased pencil marks. I glued the circle panel on the card base.

Then I stamped another bee on  a watercolor paper and colored the bee in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the bee, traced edges with the black marker and glued the bee on the panel over the black bee. I left wings unglued to add extra dimension to my card. I coated

I heat embossed in white the sentiment on a black cardstock paper piece, cut it to a desirable shape, added some foam on the back and glued it on the card.

As a finishing touch, I drew white dots on bee's wings and on the ink blended panel using a white pigment ink pen and my card was finished. :o)
