Froggy Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Yesterday was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this masculine, CAS (clean and simple), Froggy Birthday Card.

To make this card, I used two Jane's Doodles stamp sets. Super cute frog is from 'Smile' stamp set and sentiment from 'Plants' stamp set. 'Smile' set is an oldie, but brand new in my stamps collection. LOVE!!! :o)

I stamped the frog on a watercolor paper and watercolored it with Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the frog. leaving white border around it.

Then I heat embossed in white the sentiment on a black cardstock paper stripe.

I glued 2 mm thick foam squares on the sentiment stripe and glued it on a top folded white card base. I wanted the frog to pop up even more, so I glued 3 mm thick foam squares on the frog and placed it on the card. As a finishing touch, I glued two green enamel stickers below the sentiment.

In ancient Egypt, Hekt, the frog goddess, protected newborn babies, hence frogs were symbols of fertility and birth. The frog is also said to attract true friends and to help find long-lasting love."
