Blue Butterflies Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Blue Butterflies Birthday Card:o)

To make this card I used stamps from GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles 'Doodle Butterflies' stamp set.

How I made this card...

I stamped butterflies on a watercolor paper and loosely watercolored them with Distress Inks. After drying I fussy cut butterflies and traced edges with black marker.

Then I stamped two same butterflies on a white cardstock paper and colored them with grey marker. I fussy cut both butterflies, this time leaving thin white border around them. I glued watercolored butterflies over grey ones. I did this because the watercolor paper I used is thin and I needed thicker images. I could use a thicker watercolor paper, but I find it more difficult to fussy cut. Also, the thicker watercolor paper is way more expensive than the thinner one, so I don't like to waste any and prefer to use it for different types of cards and not for small images. I do love fussy cutting, so this is not a problem for me at all. :o)

Next up was card assembling. I stamped a sentiment with Distress Ink Peacock Feathers on a white cardstock paper panel and ink blended a white cardstock paper stripe with the same color. After drying, I glued the stripe and the panel on a white top folded card base.

Lastly, I glued some 3-D foam squares on butterflies, glued them on card and my card was finished. :o)
