Hello Summer Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

It's been quiet for nearly two weeks here on my blog. I had super busy days and I didn't find any time for blogging.

On Thursday, July 18th, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Hello Summer Card:o)

Watercoloring is my favorite coloring technique, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and try something I've never tried before: no line coloring with colored pencils on Kraft. I've tried no line watercolor technique in the past (here and here), but didn't find it something I enjoy and like at the time. Well, it's different story on my today's card. I'm more than satisfied with my no line coloring and will surely do it more in the future. :o)

To make this card I used super cute stamps from brand new Jane's Doodles 'Summer Icons' stamp set.

How I made my card...

I randomly stamped summer icons on a Kraft paper panel using a Distress Ink Antique Linen.

After the ink dried, lines were barely visible. I colored summer icons with various colored pencils. I used Stabilo Pens 68 for shading and a white pencil for white accents.

When I was satisfied with my coloring, I heat embossed in clear a sentiment from the set directly on the panel.

Lastly, I glued the panel on a top folded Kraft paper card base and my card was finished. :o)
