Rainbow Numerals Birthday Card III (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Yesterday was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), Rainbow Numerals Birthday Card III:o)

I made this card for my niece Tea, who's 8th birthday is today.  Happy birthday sweet little girl!!

I CASEd (copy and share everything) my own card I created earlier this year (find it here). I went with CASE because I really like the design of the original and because Tea likes rainbow colors and numbers (and Math). :o)

For my card I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp sets: numerals from 'ABC's' stamp set and sentiment from 'Belated Birthday' stamp set.
:

How I made this card...

I arranged numeral stamps on an acrylic ruler (I don't have long acrylic block) and inked them with VersaMark Watermark Ink. Then I inked each numeral with different Distress Ink, directly over the Watermark Ink, following a Rainbow pattern. I pressed inked numerals directly on a white cardstock paper panel. After drying, I glued the panel on a white side folded card base.

Next up was a sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper stripe, placed some foam on the back of the stripe and glued the sentiment on the card.

As a finishing touch I embellished the card with enamel dots. :o)

Card measurements: 89 mm x 133 m(3.5" x 5.25")

Blue Flamingo Shaker Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

It's been quiet for a while here on my blog. I spent two weeks with my family and friends visiting them along our beautiful coastline, where they are/were spending their summer vacation. It was amazing and super fun. I returned back home on Sunday. I'll be sharing some photos in couple days here on my blog. Meanwhile, you can visit my Instagram profile and check photos I've already shared while I was traveling. :o)

Today I want to share my last week's spotlight project I shared over at Jane's Doodles (August 14th). I didn't manage to write a blog post and to share it here on my blog prior I went on the vacation, so I'm sharing it today. It's this CAS (clean and simple)Blue Flamingo Shaker Card:o)

I made this card for my sister-in-law, who's birthday is next week. :o)

To make this card I used stamps from a brand new, GORGEOUS 'Tropical Fun' stamp set. I made my own background using three tiny heart die cuts from 'Stinks' dies set.

How I made this card...

I stamped a flamingo on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the flamingo and traced edges with black marker.

I stamped another flamingo on a white cardstock paper and fussy cut the flamingo leaving thin white border around it. I colored the flamingo in black.

Then I glued together two flamingos, watercolored one and black one. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

Next up was a shaker window.

First up I die-cut a circle in a white cardstock paper panel, glued an acetate sheet over the window and stamped a sentiment on the panel.

Then I blended Distress Inks directly on a white top folded card base. When I was satisfied with a color, I glued 3 mm thick foam squares on the panel, filled window with shaker mix and glued the panel on the card base.

For the shaker mix I used die cut hearts left from a card I made earlier this month (here).

Lastly, I glued some 3-D foam on the flamingo and glued it on the card. :o)

Pink Flamingo Birthday Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Pink Flamingo Birthday Card:o)

I made this card for my cousin Snežana, who's birthday is tomorrow. :o)

To make this card I used stamps from a brand new, GORGEOUS 'Tropical Fun' stamp set and sentiment from 'All Occasions' stamp set . I made my own background using three tiny heart die cuts from 'Stinks' dies set.

How I made this card...

I stamped a flamingo on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the flamingo and traced edges with black marker. I softened the flamingo on a soft working mat using stylus ball.

I stamped another flamingo on a white cardstock paper and fussy cut the flamingo leaving thin white border around it. I colored the flamingo in black.

Then I glued together two flamingos, watercolored one and black one. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.

Next up was a background. I randomly die cut tiny hearts on a white cardstock paper panel. I used only the panel and left die cut hearts for another project.

Lastly, I heat embossed in white on a black cardstock paper a sentiment 'Birthday Wishes' and cut the stripe to a desirable size.

With all pieces ready, I assembled the card. I glued 3-D foam squares on the back of the panel and glued it on a white top folded card base. The panel and card base are same size.

Then I glued foam tape on the sentiment stripe and placed the sentiment on the card. Lastly, I glued more 3-D foam on the flamingo and glued it on the card.  I'm very satisfied with a result. :o)

Karate Orange Belt Shaker Card

Hello everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you this CAS (clean and simple), Karate Orange Belt Shaker Card.

I made this card for my niece Tea (7), who trains Karate for four years. On June 7th 2018, she had her second Karate testing to earn an Orange Belt. She earned it!! :o)

If you would like to find out more what the Karate Belt colors mean, check out this article.

Tea earned Orange Karate Belt

As I wanted to give her the card in person, I didn't hurry and created this card last week and gave it to her last weekend, while I was visiting my family in Bilice near Šibenik, where they are spending their vacation. She loved it!! :o)

If you like, you can see a card I made her last year here, when she earned a Yellow Belt. :o)

How I made this card...

To make this card I used a super cute Mama Elephant 'Tiny Ninjas' stamp set. LOVE!!! :o)

I stamped adorable ninja on a watercolor paper and watercolored her using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the ninja leaving white thin border around her. (As this was a card for a girl, my ninja is a girl.)

I used UNIKO 'Explosion! Additions' stamp set to create a window for my shaker card. I inked an explosion shape with VersaMark Ink and stamped it on a white cardstock paper panel. Using kraft knife, I cut out the shape and created the window. I glued an acetate sheet on the panel to close the window.

Then I blended a Distress Ink Spiced Marmalade directly on a white top folded card base. When I was satisfied with a color, I coated ink blended surface with Clear Wink of Stella.

I mixed various sequins and beads to get my own mix. I glued 3 mm thick foam sheet on the panel, filled the window with shaker mix and glued the panel on the card base. I also glued some foam on the ninja and glued her in the middle of the window (explosion shape).

Lastly, I heat embossed a sentiment in white on a black cardstock paper stripe and trimmed the stripe to get desirable size. I glued foam on the back and glued the sentiment on the card. To make the card sturdier, I glued a white cardstock paper panel inside the card and my card was finished. :o)
