Butterflies Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

My second post today. If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here.

Last Tuesday, January 8th, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Butterflies Card:o)

I was overcrowded with various doctors' appointments last week, I didn't find time neither strength to write this blog post, so I'm bringing it today. :o)

My card is a CASE (copy and share everything) of my own card I made last year (find it here). I went with same design, used same techniques to make the card and went with a same sentiment, but I used different images and different color scheme, as well I drew a little bit different white dots.

To make this card I used stamps from two gorgeous Jane's Doodles stamp sets: 'Butterflies' and 'Bless Your Heart'.

How I made my card...

I stamped in black gorgeous quotation on a white cardstock paper panel. Beautiful lettering and quotation!!! :o)

Then I heat embossed in clear butterflies on the panel, one by one, that's the safest when I'm heat embossing. :o)

Next up was ink blending. I blended the whole panel with Distress Inks, applying colors with gentle pressure. For butterflies, I used darker blue tones and applied more pressure.

After blending, I glued the panel on a white top folded card base. As a finishing touch, I drew white dots with all over the panel using white gel pen and white pigment ink. :o)

Card measurements: 101 mm x 133 mm (4" x 5 1/4")

List of supplies:
  • Jane's Doodles 'Butterflies' stamp set

Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop

Hello everyone!! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog HopToday we are featuring three new stamp sets released into the store. :o)

Aren't they GORGEOUS!! LOVE!!! :o)

For today I prepared only one card. Due to some unexpected situation, I didn't have time to create something with 'Homemade' stamp set, which is my personal favorite from this release. :o)

And here is what I created...

Magnolias Card using stamps from gorgeous 'Magnolia' and 'Bless You Heart' stamp sets.

I made this cards for my cousin, who will have her Confirmation soon. :o)

How I made my card...

I stamped in black gorgeous quotation on a white cardstock paper panel. Beautiful lettering and quotation!!! :o)

Then I heat embossed in clear magnolias on the panel, one by one, that's the safest when I'm heat embossing.

Next up was ink blending. I blended the whole panel with Distress Inks, applying colors with gentle pressure.

For magnolias, I used handmade stencil. I stamped a magnolia flower on a piece of cardstock paper and cut it out. I used negative as a stencil/mask, which allowed me to blend magnolias with different color.

After blending, I glued the panel on a white top folded card base. As a finishing touch, I drew white dots with white gel pen. :o)

I'm very satisfied how my card turned out, hope my cousin will like it too. I will definitely recreate this card in future. :o)

At the bottom of this post you can find card measurements and detailed supply lists for this card. Link to this post will be in a right sidebar (Featured Post), until the Blog Hop ends. :o)

And now to the Blog Hop prize...

Our generous Jane will be giving away one stamp set of winner's choice to one lucky winner. All you have to do is leave a comment on all blogs along the Hop for your chance to win.

After the Rain Card II (Fairy Tale Challenge #191)

    Hello everyone! :o)

It's time for a new challenge over at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Our theme for this fortnight is #191, Aprilwetter / April Weather, raining cats and dogs.

And here is my take on the challenge: After the Rain Card II.

To make my card I used super cute LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Polka Dot Pals Rayne' digital stamp.

I printed the image on a watercolor paper and left it dry for a day. I colored the image in watercolor technique using Distress Inks.

I partly colored the image during the 9th 30 Day Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin of The Daily Marker.

As I wasn't sure what I want to do with the image, I left the image until inspiration arrives (I was totally in Rainbow colors for a while :o) ).

Couple days ago, I pulled the image out, as it's totally fitting to our challenge, and finished coloring. I decided to go with similar design as on a card I made last year (here), using same image, quotation and font.

I already had a card layout on my computer from my last year's card, I just moved quotation on the bottom of the card. When I liked a new layout, I printed it out on a white cardsotck paper base.

Then I fussy the watercolored image, traced edges with a black marker, glued the image on the card over the uncolored image and my card was finished. :o)

    Card dimensions: 89 mm x 120 mm (3 1/2" x 4 3/4")

    List of supplies:
    • LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Polka Dot Pals Rayne' digital stamp
    • 1942 Report Font (Important: Read licences before downloading.)
    • white cardstock paper
    • watercolor paper
    • Tim's Holtz Distress Inks:
      • Mustard Seed
      • Spiced Marmalade
      • Tea Dye
      • Vintage Photo
      • Walnut Stain
      • Hickory Smoke
      • Black Soot
    • Stabilo Fibre Tip Pen (Marker), Black 68/46
    • UHU liquid glue
    • Fiskars High Precision Personal Paper Trimmer
    • bone folder
    • printer

After The Rain Card (LMMS Inspiration)

    Hi everyone! :o)

This is my third post today. If you missed previous two, just scroll down or follow direct links here and here.

It's Little Miss Muffet Stamps Inspiration Week and I made this CAS (clean and simple), After The Rain Card. :o)

To make this card, I was inspired with a card I created last year for LMMS, Voodoo Doll Monochrome Card.

For my card I used super cute LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Polka Dot Pals Rayne' digital stamp.

I also used a free font I downloaded from dafont1942 Report Font. Love it!! :o)
    Important: Read licences before downloading.

I made a layout on my computer (the image and quotation) and printed it out on a white cardstock base.

I printed one more image on a watercolor paper and left it dry for a day. I colored the image in watercolor technique using Distress Inks.

After drying, I fussy cut the image and traced edges with a black fibre-tip pen. I colored the image printed on the card base with the black fibre-tip pen and glued the colored image over it. Finished! :o)

    Card dimensions: 89 mm x 133 mm (3 1/2" x 5 1/4")

    List of supplies:

Education, Quotation Card no. #2 (CRAFT-alnica #193, August GDT)

    Hi everyone! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at CRAFT-alnica, Slovenian challenge blog, for month of AugustTwo weeks ago I shared my first GDT project and today I'm sharing my second project as GDT at CRAFT-alnica.

The challenge for this fortnight is #193 - Okvir / Frame. Use a frame on your project, make or decorate a frame.

I love hand drawn frames, so I decided to go with a hand drawn frameAnd this is my take on the challenge: Education, Quotation Card.

This is a decoration magnet (it has a magnetic sheet on the back). I made it for myself (actually for a refrigerator, as magnets can't stick on me LOL).

To make this one, I was inspired with a Quotation Card I made last year (find it here).

I was also inspired with colors from a photo below shared on Addicted to Stamps and More blog for the challenge #255 - Photo inspiration. :o)

And a photo shared on Cupcakes Inspirations for the challenge CIC419.
    Original photo source: Potter Cakes

I quoted one of my favorite philosophers, Jiddu Krishnamurti. :o)

How I made my quotation card/magnet...

I cut a white watercolor paper panel and typed quotation on a typewriter and drew line frame with superfine permanent marker (0.4 mm).

Images are layered. I stamped pile of books from Jane's Doodles 'Read All About It' stamp set  directly on the panel and once more on a piece of watercolor paper. Then I colored books in watercolor technique using Distress Inks.

I colored a background in watercolor technique using Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch (DIBS). I added several layers of color and dried them between. When I was satisfied with the color, I splattered whole panel with water and DIBS.

After drying, I fussy cut colored books, colored edges with a black marker and glued them over stamped images on the panel. I added white highlights on books and the panel was finished.

The watercolor paper I used was thick and you could kind of see black color of the magnetic sheet through it. To solve this "problem", I cut a white cardstock base, same size as the watercolor paper, and glued colored panel on it. At the end I glued whole card on the magnetic sheet and my quotation card /magnet was finished.

    Dimensions:  88 mm x 126 mm (3 1/2" x 5")
