Lovin' from my Oven Recipe Notebook (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Lovin' from my Oven Recipe Notebook:o)

To make this notebook I used stamps from four beautiful Jane's Doodles stamp sets'Pumpkin Spice', 'Homemade', 'Read All About It' and 'Bear Hugs'.

With some masking and stamping, as well as some doodling, I created a kitchen scene on a Canson XL Mixed Media Paper panel. I also stamped a sentiment on the panel. Then I colored images in watercolor technique using only one Distress Ink Color: Ground Espresso.

After drying, I drew white highlights and dots, created patterns and highlighted the sentiment and my cover was finished. :o)

I bound a notebook, using white printing paper, covers, sewing thread and needle. I used Coptic Stitch for binding. I learned the particular stitch from a great YouTube tutorial by Sea Lemon: How to Make a Sketchbook/DIY Coptic Stitch Bookbinding Tutorial. Check out her channel, she has awesome bookbinding tutorials. :o)

I love how my recipe notebook turned out. :o)

Autumn Blessings Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Autumn Blessings Card:o)

To make this card I was inspired with a card I made in January this year (here). I love the monochrome look and how my card turned out, so I kind of recreated it (is this a CASE??). I went with same design, layout and color scheme, but went with different theme, images and made some differences. :o)

I used stamps from two beautiful brand new Jane's Doodles stamp sets: images from 'Pumpkin Spice' stamp set and a sentiment from 'Hello Fall' stamp set.

How I made this card...

stamped images randomly on a panel, for which I used Canson XL Mixed Media Paper. I colored images in watercolor technique using only one Distress Ink Color: Ground Espresso.

After drying, I stamped a sentiment in black on the panel and glued the panel on a Kraft top folded card base.

As a finishing touch, I highlighted all images and sentiment using white pigment ink pen. :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 133 mm (3 3/4" x 5 1/4")

List of supplies :
  • Jane's Doodles 'Pumpkin Spice' stamp set
  • Jane's Doodles 'Hello Fall' stamp set

Pumpkins, pumpkins... Crafty Activities for Children

Hi everyone!

It's Pumpkin time!! :o) This is my third post in my Pumpkins, pumpkins series. If you missed previous posts, just scroll down or follow direct links here and here. :o)

Today I want to share with you some crafty activities for children

Inspired by Pumpkin Festival in Ivanić-Grad (Bučijada ... find more about it and photos I shared in my blog post here), my nieces, Tea and Nika, and I got crafty while I was staying in Ivanić-Grad. We played with Jane's Doodles 'Autumn Blessings' stamp set.

The set is retired, but you can find stamp sets with similar images in Jane's Doodles store: 'Pumpkin Spice', 'Sunflowers'.

Stamped Pumpkin Class and Kindergarten Pumpkin Class

I stamped a pumpkin class and a kindergarten class using pumpkins from the 'Autumn Blessings' stamp set on white watercolor papers (size A4). Then we drew faces on each pumpkin, Tea on her own class, while Nika wanted me to draw faces on her pumpkin kindergarten class. They asked me to write their class/groups names' on each paper.

Then girls colored pumpkins using colored pencils.

They were so happy and proud, and both couldn't wait next day to bring their own pumpkin class in school/kindergarten. Their teachers loved the idea, as well as their classmates/friends. :o)

I love various pumpkins and squashes my mom collected, some from her garden and some she exchanged with her friends. Small, tiny, orange, yellow, brown... super cute!!! ♥

New techniques and materials

Introducing new simple techniques and new materials to children is always so fun. Various papers, Stabilo fiber tip pens and TOZ Artist Color colored pencils... hours of drawing and coloring. :o)

My younger niece, Nika, draw on a Kraft paper. She loved it. :o)

I showed my older niece Tea how to use two or more tones for coloring, how to shade and blend colors with Stabilo fiber tip pens. She was so focused and enjoyed learning new coloring techniques. :o)

I colored a bit on an airplane, when I was returning from Ivanić-Grad.

I hope you enjoyed this short Pumpkins, pumpkins series. I'll have more of this and similar series here on my blog in the future. For now, first round of Pumpkins, pumpkins series is finished. :o)

Thank you for stopping by and your kind feedback. Enjoy and smile!! :o)

Tangerine Pumpkins

I didn't take photos of other treats. At the time I finished them, it was too dark too get any good photo.
