Butterflies Easel Calendar (Crafty Creations Challenges #283)

Hi everyone :-D

It´s time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges.
http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/

Our theme for this fortnight is #283 - White Plus One.

I chose black & white color combination, one of my favorites, and made a Butterflies Easel Calendar for my dear friend who had a birthday last week. Late again with a birthday present, but she won´t mind.

I made an easel calendar using a great photo tutorial Kalendarkarte - calendar card from Stempeleinmaleins. Calendar dimensions are 105 mm x 148 mm (4 1/8" x 5 7/8")
I made monthly calendar in MS Word using lovely Aerofoil free font from DaFont. After printing, I cut out same sized rectangles and glued them together on top. If you would like this calendar in MS Word format (it´s editable), send me an e-mail and I´ll send it to you. :-D
I decorated calendar with black die-cuts 'Flutter Tree' I bought on eBay while ago. I used two of them, one whole 'Flutter Tree' and butterflies from other die-cut (I cut them off).
I printed one of my favorite quotations on white cardstock paper, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso quotation, cut out small rectangle, glued it on black cardstock paper, added dimensional foam on the back and placed it on the calendar.

List of supplies:
  • Aerofoil free font from DaFont
  • white cardstock paper

  • UHU universal glue

Fairy Needle Easel Calendar (Fairy Tale Challenge #111)

Happy Friday everyone :-D

It´s time for a new challenge at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Theme for this fortnight is #111, Stoff oder nähen / Fabric or Sewing.
Use fabric on your project, fully or partly, sew something, or use a stamp with fitting image... anything you like. :-D

Fairy Needle Easel Calendar is my project for this challenge.

I used lovely Ms Manning digital stamp 'Fairy Needle', which includes lovely Fairy and separate "encouragement" sentiment. I like the layout of colored sample from Mo Manning and I decided to make mine same.

Image is paper pieced and it has 2 layers. I printed images on white 160 grams paper, colored them, fussy cut one image and colored it´s edges with black pen and glued cut out image over another image. Here is a photo of two layers.

I covered Fairy´s wings with FIMO Gloss Varnish. I was experimenting a bit and was wondering what will happen when I use this medium on paper. :-D

Calendar dimensions are 105 mm x 148 mm (4 1/8" x 5 7/8").
I made this easel calendar using a great photo tutorial Kalendarkarte - calendar card from Stempeleinmaleins.

I made monthly calendar using MS Word. After printing, I cut out same sized rectangles and glued them together on top.

I decorated calendar with paper flowers, plastic self adhesive half beads and punched out butterflies. At the end I smeared Pastel-White pearl maker over butterflies and flowers.

List of supplies:
  • Mo´s Manning digital stamp 'Fairy Needle'

Baby Dragon Easel Calendar

Hello everyone :-D

Today I am posting my first project as Guest Designer at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

New challenge for this fortnight is #104 Uhren + Kalender / Calendars and Clocks.
Challenge is to make a calendar or a clock, or to use any image in your project that has a calendar or a clock on it.

This time the prize for one lucky winner is this lovely clear stamps set.

Sounds fun, right. Come and play along at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog and show us your lovely projects. There are also beautiful projects made by talented Design Team and other Guest Designers.

For this challenge, I made this Baby Dragon Easel Calendar.

Image I used is Meljen's Designs 'Little Baby Dragon'.

Image on calendar is paper pieced and for this one I needed 7 same images. I printed all images on white card stock paper, colored them with my colored and aquarell pencils, fussy cut images and parts I needed, colored edges with permanent marker and pieced all elements together. I added some transparent glossy varnish to create glossy accents. Here are photos of all layers (sorry for the poor quality of photos; it was very late when I took them).

Here are close up photos of finished image.

Calendar dimensions are 14 cm x 14 cm (5 1/2" x 5 1/2")This is the first time I made easel calendar (well, easel anything) and I used great photo tutorial Kalendarkarte - calendar card from Stempeleinmaleins. I like this a lot. Here is a photo of closed up calendar.

I made monthly calendar using MS Word. After printing, I cut out same sized rectangles and glued them together on top.

List of supplies:
  • Meljen's Designs 'Little Baby Dragon'
  • Hearts & Circles patterned paper from digital paper collection Baby Boy Patterned Prints
  • Aerofoil free font from DaFont
  • dark blue card stock paper
