Valentine Monster Card

Hi everyone! Happy Valentine's Day!! :o)

This is my second post today. If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here.

Today I want to share with you this Valentine Monster Card. :o)

I made this card for my sweetheart.

To make this card I used super adorable 'Monster the One and Only' freebie digital image from Goebie Design. :o)

How I made my card...

I made a layout on my computer and printed the image directly on a Kraft cardstock card base. I left it aside for an hour to let ink dry completely to prevent ink smearing while coloring.

I colored the image with various colored pencils.

Then I colored monster's eyes, teeth and toes and drew white highlights with a white pigment ink.

As a finishing touch, I rounded three corners with a rounded corner paper puncher and my card was finished. :o)

Card measurements: 95 mm x 133 mm (3 3/4" x 5 1/4")

List of supplies :

Monster Hugs Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), Monster Hugs Card.

To make my card, I was inspired with my own two cards. Color inspiration here, layout here. :o)

I used an ADORABLE Jane's Doodles 'Monster Squad stamp set. LOVE!!! :o)

stamped a monster on a watercolor paper, colored him in watercolor technique using Distress Inks, fussy cut him out and traced edges with black marker. Then I glued him on a 2 mm thick foam sheet and fussy cut him out again.

Then I stamped a sentiment on a white top folded card base, drew a line frame with black fine liner to make my CAS card more interesting.

Lastly, I glued the robot on the card, added white highlights on the image, embellished the card with enamel arrow stickers and my card was finished. :o)

Card dimensions: 88 mm x 88 mm (3.5" x 3.5")

Fluffy Hugs Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #153)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today a new challenge starts at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

Our theme for this fortnight is #153, Monsters.

This time our lucky winner will win this stitching and embossing die from Marianne Design.

For this challenge I made this Fluffy Hugs Card. :o)

For my card I used super cute 'Fluffy Gustav' digital stamp and digital sentiment from Useless Trinkets by Jessa Feig. There are so many lovely images drawn by Jessa and she is sharing them for free. Thank you so much Jessa!! :o)

I made a layout on my computer and printed it out on a white cardstock base. Then I printed one more monster on a watercolor paper and colored him with Distress Inks in watercolor technique. After I was finished with coloring, I fussy cut him out, colored edges with black marker and glued him on the card base, over the printed monster (paper piecing). At the end I added details with white pen. I'm so satisfied with the outcome. :o)

Star Monster Card

Hi everyone :-D

Today I made this Star Monster Card

I love this black/yellow/white color combination and I used it on several cards. You can see them here, here, here, here, here and here. :-D

For my card layout I used wonderful sketch from Your Next Stamp, designed by Julie Elak. I love her sketches! :-D
http://yournextstamp.com/blog/sketch-and-color-challenge-9/

First I made a card layout using a black cardstock paper and printed Prettygrafikdesign digital paper. I colored/distressed edges of patterned papers using Tim Holtz´s Distressed Ink Black Soot and blending tool. I always do that when I use dark colors on my cards. It looks much better. :-D

I used super cute and fun 'Monster' digital stamp (freebie) from Create a Smile. Love this little Monster and I used him twice before on my projects. I am sure I´ll use him again. :-D He is my swap for the circle shape on the sketch.

Image is paper pieced.
I printed two 'Monster' images on a white cardstock paper and colored the pieces in watercoloring technique using only one color (Tim Holtz´s Distressed Ink Mustard Seed), water and brush. I added few dashes to his feet and hair, and colored dots with black permanent pen. I love glossy accents, so I covered Monster´s dots with thick layer of transparent glossy varnish. This way black color looks much prettier. I added some varnish to his teeth too. :-D
After drying, I fussy cut all parts, colored edges with black permanent pens and glued two pieces together. I also added googly eyes onto the Monster, to make him even more funny.
Here is a photo of pieces I used.

He looks like Monster I colored three weeks ago (here), there are just few differences (slightly brighter hair and feet, dashes).

I love dimension on my cards. I added dimensional foam behind the Monster and placed him on the card.

Card dimensions are 149 mm x 105 mm (5 7/8" x 4 1/8").

List of supplies:
  • Create a Smile 'Monster' digital stamp (freebie)
  • Prettygrafikdesign digital paper (stars, polka dots)
  • black cardstock paper
  • white cardstock paper
  • Tim Holtz´s Distressed Inks (Mustard Seed, Black Soot)
