Striped Birthday Card Set (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), Striped Birthday Card Set:o)

To make this card set I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp setsPatterns and All Occasions.

How I made this card set....

First I inked a stripes stamp with VersaMark Watermark Ink. Then I inked the stamp with a Distress Ink Mustard Seed, directly over the Watermark Ink.

I pressed the inked stamp directly on a white cardstock paper panel, removed the stamp and repeated same until I stamped whole panel. I repeated same on two more panels.

I glued panels on top folded card bases (horizontal card is side folded).

I heat embossed a sentiment on a black cardstock paper three times. I didn't heat emboss sentiments perfectly, so I used black fine liner and white pigment ink to fix embossed sentiments. :o)

After cooling, I cut sentiment stripes, glued 3-D foam on the back of each stripe and glued them on cards.

As a finishing touch, I embellished cards with black enamel stickers. :o)

I love how my cards turned out. :o)

Card measurements:
vertical cards: 95 mm x 127 mm (3 3/4" x 5")
horizontal card: 127 mm x 95 mm (5" x 3 3/4")

Jane's Doodles Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Release Blog HopToday we are featuring TWO new stamp sets released into the store. :o)

Plumeria and Kind

Aren't they GORGEOUS!! Love love LOVE!!!!! :o)

For today I prepared this CAS (clean and simple), You are so kind Card using stamps from both sets. :o)

How I made my card....

First I cut out all pieces I needed from a white cardstock paper: card base, window panel, background panel.

I made my own cloud stencil from an acetate sheet scrap (left from a cosmetics package). I drew cloud shape on the acetate sheet with a permanent marker, cut it out with scissors, cleaned permanent marker ink from the stencil with an alcohol and my stencil was finished. :o)

I ink blended clouds through the stencil on the background panel. After drying, I glued the panel on a top folded card base.

stamped a sentiment on a white cardstock paper panel with a cut window. I glued some foam on the panel and glued it on the card base.

stamped images on a watercolor paper and loosely watercolored them using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut images and traced their edges with black marker.

I stamped more images on the white cardstock paper, colored them with a black marker, fussy cut them, traced edges with the black marker and glued colored images over the black ones. I did this because the watercolor paper I used if very thin.

With images ready, I glued them on the card using 2 different thickness of square foams.

As a finishing touch, I drew white highlights and dots, and my card was finished. :o)

I love how my card turned out. :o)

    Birthday Hippo Card

    Hi everyone! :o)

Today I want to share with you this Birthday Hippo Card. :o)

I made this card for my friend Mirela who's birthday was yesterday. :o)

To make this card I used super adorable 'Valentine Hippo' freebie digital image from Goebie Design and a 'Happy Birthday' sentiment stamp from Lawn Fawn which I got for my last birthday from Lawn Fawn. :o)

    How I made this card...

I made a layout on my computer and printed the image on a white cardstock paper panel.

Then I printed out 2 more images on a white carsdstock paper and 2 on a watercolor paper.

After couple hours of drying I colored pieces I needed in watercolor technique and other pieces with black marker. After drying, I fussy cut all pieces, except the one printed on the panel, traced edges with black marker and softened watercolored pieces on a soft working mat using stylus ball. I did this to add some dimension to my image.

Here is a photo of all pieces I used for paper piecing this adorable hippo.

With all pieces ready, I glued together pieces. I used liquid glue and 3-D foam to add even more dimension.

I stamped the sentiment on the panel, glued a patterned paper stripe on a white top folded card base and then the panel with the image.

As a finishing touch, I drew white highlights with a white pigment ink and my card was finished. :o)
