Books are Magical Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this one layer, watercolor, Books are Magical Card.

This Monday a new school year started in Croatia. I made this card for my niece Tea, 1st grade student. ♥

For a card base I used Canson XL Mixed Media Paper and stamped directly on the card base. I used stamps from three super adorable Jane's Doodles stamp sets: 'Read All About It!', 'Magical' and 'Unicorn'. :o)

  

I colored everything in a watercolor technique using Distress Inks (DI). First I colored a blue background, covered a girl with paper towel pieces and splattered the background with DI Blueprint Sketch and with water. Then I watercolored all images (Moon, stars, girl). I was inspired with colors from a photo below shared on Addicted to Stamps and More blog for the challenge #255 - Photo inspiration. This is my 3rd project made using this color scheme. I love it!!! You can find my previous projects here and here. :o)

After coloring, I left card air dry for couple hours. As a finishing touch, I highlighted images and sentiment and drew dots all over the card with a white gel pen. :o)

Dotty Card (Hanna and Friends #222)

Happy Friday everyone :-D

Today I am posting my third project as a Guest Designer at Hanna and Friends. Challenge started yesterday. Due to my obligations, I'm late with my project.

New challenge for this fortnight is #222 - Punkte und/oder Kreise / Dots and/or circles. Use dots, circles or both on your projects.

A prize for one lucky winner is this gorgeous package sponsored by Paperbasics.

For this challenge, I made this Dotty Card.

I used lovely Santoro's Gorjuss 'Ladybird' image, whit polka dots on the outfit. This one I got stamped on thick white paper from a friend Kristina from Sweden. She sent me a lot of craft supplies, stamped images, embossed panels and die-cuts. Embossed lavender panel on the card is also from Kristina. Thank you so much Kristina. :-D

I colored the image with colored pencils and blended colors using paper blending stomp and baby oil. After the image was completely dry, I fussy cut it, colored edges with black permanent pen, added 3-D foams behind the image and placed it on the card.

Card dimensions are 107 mm x 139 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").
