Franken Bun Halloween Card (Kitty Bee Designs Spotlight)

Hi everyone :-D

Today it´s my turn to be on the spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs and I made this Franken Bun Halloween Card

I used cute image 'Franken Bun' from Halloween 2014 Release

Details about my card...

Image is paper pieced and I used 4 images to create this one. I printed two images on a white cardstock paper and two on a dark green cardstock paper. I shaded with colored pencil parts printed on the dark green cardstock paper and colored parts with colored pencils and Stabilo markers printed on the white cardstock paper. After coloring, I fussy cut all the parts I needed, colored edges with black marker and glued all pieces together.

Then I stamped sentiment 'trick or treat' from Jane's Doodles 'Winnie Halloween' stamp set. I stamped sentiment couple of times in rows on a white paper. I distressed whole surface with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink using blending tool, sprayed whole surface with water, splattered it a bit and dried it fast with a hairdryer.

I don't have heat gun, so I use hairdryer for drying wet papers. I would love to have one so I could heat emboss, but I'm fine with that. I always try to use what I have and not to buy new things. :-D

I teared my 'patterned paper', black cardstock paper and vellum paper, glued them on a white cardstock card base, added 3D foams behind paper pieced image and placed it on a card.

At the end, I embellished card with homemade black faux enamel dots. I learned how to make faux enamel dots from video tutorial by ScrapTips on YouTube. First I made glue dots with a glue gun on my glass working surface and colored them with Staedtler permanent black pen. After drying, I glued them on card with clear gloss resin.

Card dimensions are 107 mm x 139 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").

Dream Mini Card

Hi everyone :-D

Today is my birthday and would like to thank everyone for beautiful wishes! I am having lovely and super fun day. :-D

I was crafting a bit this evening and made this CAS (clean and simple), one layerDream Mini Card

This is a CASE of my Enjoy Card and it was quick and easy to make. I was also inspired with Chakra Colors.

I cut out card base from a white cardstock paper and rounded two opposite corners with round corner paper puncher. Card dimensions are 76 mm x 101 mm (3" x 4").

I stamped mini snail from  Paper Smooches 'Forest Whimsy' stamp set on card base, colored it with colored pencils and covered it with transparent varnish to create glossy accents.
http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com/Forest_Whimsy_p/nosc-11-050.htm

I drew path and wrote sentiment with a black superfine permanent pen.

I embellished card with homemade violet faux enamel dots. I learned how to make faux enamel dots from video tutorial by ScrapTips on YouTube. First I made glue dots with a glue gun on a backing paper and colored them with Marabu glass Amethyst color. After drying, I glued them on the card base with transparent varnish (it works better than glue).

List of supplies:
  • Paper Smooches 'Forest Whimsy'

  • Koh-i-noor Mondeluz aquarell colored pencils (Titanium White 3, Lavender Violet 8)
  • colored pencils (skin color, pink)

Happy Butterfly Card

Hi everyone :-D

Today I want to share with you this Happy Butterfly Card

For my card layout I used beautiful sketch 191 from Sweet Sunday Sketch.
https://www.flickr.com/photos/sweetsundaysketchchallenge/with/9642426916/

I used gorgeous Sizix 'Flights of Fancy' digital paper,  I got for free as a subscriber to a newsletter, and lovely  2 Cute Ink digital stamp 'Butterfly Doodle' I got for free this month, as a subscriber to a 2 Cute Ink newsletter
https://www.etsy.com/listing/226118969/butterfly-doodle-digital-stamp-for-card?ref=shop_home_active_2

Image is paper pieced
I printed two images on a white cardstock paper and one on a white paper (160 grams). I colored pieces I needed with my colored pencils, fussy cut pieces, colored edges with black permanent pen and glued all pieces together. I added a bit of transparent varnish on a bow to create glossy accents.
Here is a photo of all pieces I used.

At the end I embellished the card with faux enamel dots from paper. This was something I was experimenting with last night and it came out pretty good. :-D

Here is how I made my faux enamel dots from paper (step by step tutorial):
I punched out circles from design paper leftovers.
I placed paper circles on baking paper.
I covered circles with thick coat of glossy transparent varnish to create dimension.
I left them dry over night.

Card dimensions are 105 mm x 148 mm (4 1/8" x 5 7/8").

List of supplies:
  • 2 Cute Ink digital stamp 'Butterfly Doodle'
  • Sizix 'Flights of Fancy', spots, green, green swirls-lines (free for newsletter subscribers)
  • white cardstock paper
  • white paper (160 grams)
  • colored pencil (light green)
  • Kooh-i-noor woodless colored pencils (Titanium White 3, Dark Green 5)
  • Koh-i-noor universal white pencil for writing on gloss surfaces
  • Staedtler Lumocolor permanent black pen M (medium) 1.0 mm
  • transparent varnish with extra gloss
  • Pritt universal glue

4) As You Like It Challenge, Favourite Type of Stamp - Digi or Rubber (and Why)?
I love both, digital and rubber stamps. As a relatively new stamper and being unemployed long long time, I don´t have a lot of rubber stamps. With a really low monthly budget I can spend on crafting supplies (sometimes none), and enormously high price of rubber stamps here in my country (buuu), I prefer digital stamps. Also, digital stamps can be resized and rotated, so I have much more possibilities than with rubber stamps. :-D

Dandelion Sprite Card (Fairy Tale Challenge #113)

Happy Friday everyone :-D

It´s time for a new challenge at Fairy Tale Challenge Blog.

The theme for this fortnight is #113, Flower Power.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Aurora Wings, with an awesome prize for our random winner: 3 digital images of the winner´s choice.
http://www.aurorawings.blogspot.com/

For this challenge I made a Dandelion Sprite Card, using our sponsor´s gorgeous image 'Dandelion Sprite'.

I printed image on a white paper (160 grams) and colored it with colored pencils and aquarell colored pencils. Satisfied with my coloring, I decided to leave the design CAS (clean and simple).

A green panel is a colored white cardstock paper. I colored it with a Marabu glass Emerald color, to match faux enamel dots I used for embellishing.

I learned how to make faux enamel dots from video tutorial by ScrapTips on YouTube. First I made glue dots with a glue gun on a backing paper and colored them with the Marabu glass Emerald color. After drying, I glued them the card.

Card dimensions are 105 mm x 148 mm (4 1/8" x 5 7/8").
