God is in the details Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

Today is my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this CAS (clean and simple), God is in the details Card:o)

For my card I used stamps from two GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles stamp sets: Lily and Bless Your Heart.

How I made this card...

With some masking, I stamped lilies on a watercolor paper panel. I have pre-made masks that I store in pouch with stamps. I love masking technique and with pre-made masks I go more for it. I should make masks for more stamp sets...

I fixed some lines with a black fine liner and stamped a sentiment.

For coloring I decided to step out of my comfort zone and went with loosely watercolor technique. I love the result!! I should do this more often...

After coloring, I left the panel to dry on air. After drying, I glued the panel on a same size white top folded card base and my card was finished. :o)

Tiger Lilies Card (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

On Tuesday, May 15th, was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Tiger Lilies Card:o)

This card is a CASE of a card I made for my mom and shared it two weeks ago (find it here). I went with same design, layout and used same stamps, but went with different color scheme and used different techniques and mediums for coloring. :o)

Mom of a lovely young lady, for whom I created this card, loves orange color. I immediately knew I should go with Tiger Lilies. Gorgeous flower! :o)

How I made the card...

For my card I used stamps from two GORGEOUS Jane's Doodles stamp sets: Lily and Mother's Day.

With some masking, I stamped lilies directly on a white top folded card base.

I colored lilies with various coloring mediums. First I blended Distress Ink. I used negative part of masks to protect white background and ink blended lilies. I splattered lilies with water, dried them and repeated the process one more time.

I removed masks, added extra shades on lilies and colored green parts with colored pencils and fine liners. Dimension was missing, so I colored shades using grey colored pencil.

Then I heat embossed in black word ‘Mama’, which is Croatian for mom.

Lastly, I drew brown dots on lilies using fine liner and added some white highlights with white gel pen and the card was finished. :o)

Card dimensions: 95 mm x  133 mm (3 3/4" x 5 1/4")

Card and Tag for my Mom (Paru's Card Making Challenges May 2018 GDT)

Happy Friday! :o)

I was delighted to be asked to be a Guest Designer at Paru's Card Making Challenges for this month, after I won in her March 2018 challenge. :o)

Theme for this month is Mother's Day. Wonderful theme!!

And here is my take on the challenge: Card and Tag for my Mom. :o)

I’ll send these to her as soon as possible to receive them prior Mother’s  Day, which is annually held here in Croatia on the second Sunday of May, as in the most parts of the World.

How I made my card and tag...

To make these two, I used stamps from two Jane's Doodles stamp sets: 'Lily' and 'Mother's Day'.

With some masking, I stamped lilies on a watercolor paper panel and colored them in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I added some shades onto petals with colored pencils.

Then I heat embossed in black word ‘Mama’, which is Croatian for mom.

I glued the panel on a card base, added some white dots and highlights with white gel pen and my card was finished. :o)

Next up was the tag. I don’t make tags often, so this was quite a challenge for me. The simplest way to deal with this challenge was to go with same design as on the card. I did everything same as on the  card, just skipped heat embossing.

After coloring and drying, I cut the tag shape on my die-cutting machine, punched a hole in a tag, added some ribbon and my tag was finished. :o)

Card dimensions: 95 mm x 127 mm (3 3/4" x 5")

Tag dimensions: 36 mm x 59 mm (1 7/16" x 2 5/16")

Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop

Hi everyone!! :o)

Welcome to a Jane's Doodles Spotlight Blog Hop. Today we are featuring three new stamp sets released into the store. LOVE !!! :o)

Here is what I created...

First I made a CAS (clean and simple), Birthday Snails Card Set, using SUPER CUTE AND FUN 'Belated Birthday' stamp set. :o)

How I made my card set...

I stamped sentiments and snails directly on card bases, doodled dots, because sentiments continued inside cards. I stamped second part of sentiments and cupcakes inside card bases and colored all snails and cupcakes with black marker.
Then I stamped more snails and cupcakes on a watercolor paper, watercolored them with Distress Inks, fussy cut all parts I needed, traced edges with black marker, softened pieces with stylus ball and glued them over "black" images on card bases.
As a finishing touch I coated spiral houses, hearts on cupcakes and cupcake cups with glossy Wink of Stella.

Next up is a Blue Lilies Card, using two GORGEOUS stamp sets, 'Lily' and 'You Got This'. :o)

How I made my card...

I stamped a sentiment on a card base and bunch of lilies on a watercolor paper. I watercolored lilies with Distress Inks, shaded them with dark blue colored pencil, fussy cut them out and traced their edges with black marker.
I love dimension on my cards. On this card I went with layering. I glued lilies on the card. On "top" lilies, I left petals unglued to add even more dimension to my card. I cut away petals that were "outside" the card. :o)

As a finishing touch I glued black enamel dots on the card.

These would be all my cards for today. At the bottom of this post you can find card measurements and list of the supplies. Link to this post will be in a right sidebar (Featured Post), until Blog Hop ends. :o)
