Blue Dragonfly CAS Card (Crafty Creations Challenges #294)

Hi everyone :-D

It´s time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges.
http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/

Our theme for this fortnight is #294 - Four.

Our sponsor for this challenge is SLS Lines, whit a great prize for one random winner.

I used 4 different colors of cardstock paper (white and 3 shades of blue), 4 shades of blue colored pencils, 4 enamel dots, 4 enamel arrows and our sponsor's lovely image 'Dragonfly', and made this Blue Dragonfly CAS (Clean and Simple) Card.

I was inspired with a photo of blue dragonfly, I took 2 years ago when I was visiting Trsteno Arboretum near Dubrovnik.

Image is paper pieced and I used 6 images for this card.

I printed 2 images on a white cardstock paper, 2 on light blue cardstock paper, 1 on medium blue and 1 on dark blue cardstock paper. I colored and shaded pieces I needed with 4 shades of blue colored pencils, fussy cut all pieces, colored edges and 'hidden' parts with black permanent pens and glued all pieces together.

Here is a photo of all pieces I used.

I glued Washi tape on a card base. Love this! :-D

I wanted to add just a little bit of dimension to my card, so I added 3-D foams behind the white panel with image and glued it on the card base.

At the end, I embellished my card with 4 enamel dots and 4 enamel arrows.

Card dimensions are 107 mm x 138 mm (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").

Hi everyone :-D

It´s time for a new challenge at Crafty Creations Challenges.
http://craftycreationschallenges.blogspot.com/

Our theme for this fortnight is #291 - Embossing.

Our sponsor for this challenge is SLS Lines, whit a great prize for one random winner: 3 single digital images of winner's choice or $10 worth digital merchandise (papers and cliparts) from the store.

For this challenge I made this Monochrome Dragonfly CAS (Clean and Simple) Card, using our sponsor's lovely image 'Dragonfly'.

Image is paper pieced and I used 6 images for this card.
I printed 4 images on green paper and two on white paper. I colored and shaded pieces I needed, fussy cut them, colored edges with black permanent pen and glued all pieces together. Here is a photo of all pieces I used.

I don't have any tool for any kind of embossing, so I used embossed cardstock panel my friend Kristina from Sweden sent me. I cut strip of embossed cardstock and glued it on a card base.

At the end, I glued white panel with the image on the card base and added gloss resin on dragonfly's wings and dots to create glossy accents.

Card dimensions are 101 mm x 133 mm (4" x 5 1/4").

List of supplies:
  • SLS Lines 'Dragonfly' digital stamp
  • white cardstock paper
  • white paper (160 grams)

Cheerful Pond Card (Kitty Bee Designs Spotlight)

Hi everyone :-D

Today it´s my turn to be on the spotlight over at Kitty Bee Designs. This is my first spotlight ever and I am very excited about it. :-D I made this Cheerful Pond Card, using 'Lily Pad Froggie'.

I decided to use this image because it´s super cute. Also because frogs are one of my lucky animal totems. I have a pretty collection of them. Not real ones, of course, but wooden, stone, plastic etc. :-D

"Frogs are symbols of prosperity, wealth, friendship, and abundance in many cultures. In other cultures they symbolize fertility. In the Native American culture of the Southwestern United States, the frog carries a piece of wood in its mouth because the Mojave people believe frogs brought fire to humans. For the ancient Romans, the frog was believed to bring good luck to one's home. Native Aborigines of Australia believe that frogs brought the thunder and rain. Frogs are said to be effective in speeding up recovery from disease. Among the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, frogs symbolized inspiration and fertility. In ancient Egypt, Hekt, the frog goddess, protected newborn babies, hence frogs were symbols of fertility and birth. The frog is also said to attract true friends and to help find long-lasting love."

Details about my project...

Image is paper pieced
I printed four images on white cardstock paper, colored parts I needed with aquarell colored pencils and fine liners, fussy cut all parts, colored edges with black pen and added some transparent varnish on froggie´s dots, belly and heart, to create glossy accents. After varnish was dry, I glued together all pieces.
Here is a photo of all froggie pieces.
Then I printed one image on a blue paper and decorated it, using a dragonfly stencil and colored structure paste. I colored the structure paste with a yellow tempera color.
After dragonflies were dry, I glued pieced froggie on to the blue layer and placed everything on a white card base.

Card dimensions are 148 mm x 105 mm (5 7/8" x 4 1/8").
