Hi everyone! :o)
It's been quiet for a while here on my blog. I spent two weeks with my family and friends visiting them along our beautiful coastline, where they are/were spending their summer vacation. It was amazing and super fun. I returned back home on Sunday. I'll be sharing some photos in couple days here on my blog. Meanwhile, you can visit my Instagram profile and check photos I've already shared while I was traveling. :o)
Today I want to share my last week's spotlight project I shared over at Jane's Doodles (August 14th). I didn't manage to write a blog post and to share it here on my blog prior I went on the vacation, so I'm sharing it today. It's this CAS (clean and simple), Blue Flamingo Shaker Card.

I made this card for my sister-in-law, who's birthday is next week. :o)
I stamped a flamingo on a watercolor paper and colored it in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut the flamingo and traced edges with black marker.
To make this card I used stamps from a brand new, GORGEOUS 'Tropical Fun' stamp set. I made my own background using three tiny heart die cuts from 'Stinks' dies set.
How I made this card...
I stamped another flamingo on a white cardstock paper and fussy cut the flamingo leaving thin white border around it. I colored the flamingo in black.
Then I glued together two flamingos, watercolored one and black one. I did this to make the image thicker, as the watercolor paper I use is very thin.
Next up was a shaker window.
First up I die-cut a circle in a white cardstock paper panel, glued an acetate sheet over the window and stamped a sentiment on the panel.
Then I blended Distress Inks directly on a white top folded card base. When I was satisfied with a color, I glued 3 mm thick foam squares on the panel, filled window with shaker mix and glued the panel on the card base.
For the shaker mix I used die cut hearts left from a card I made earlier this month (here).
Lastly, I glued some 3-D foam on the flamingo and glued it on the card. :o)
