Goat Milk Carton Box (LMMS Inspiration)

Hello everyone! :o)

My second post today... If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here.

It's Little Miss Muffet Stamps Inspiration Week and I made this Goat Milk Carton Box. :o)

For my project, I used a super fun LMM's Forgotten Scraps 'Old Billy Goat' digital stamp. This image and couple of other images will be released to the LMM's store today. :o)

First I made a milk carton box template from a white cardstock paper (8.5" x 5.75") and assembled the box, leaving only one side on top to open. The box is same size as a Valentine Milk Carton Gift Box I made last month (first milk carton box I made). I'm planning Box Tutorial Series here on my blog in close future, so I didn't prepare step by step instructions for today.

I glued lovely stitched hills die cuts on all sides of the box. I don't have die cutting machine. My dear friend and DT mate Kristina cut and sent them to me. Thank you Kristina!! :o) Stop by Kristina's blog, she makes super cute and fun cards. :o)

Next up was the goat. So fun!!! I printed the image on a watercolor paper and left it dry through the night to prevent ink smearing. Next day, I colored the image in watercolor technique using Distress Inks. After drying, I fussy cut it, leaving thin white border around it, added white highlights on the image, glued 2 mm thick foam on the back of it and placed it on the box.

Lastly, I coated a goat's collar with Clear Wink of Stella and embellished the box with enamel dots and arrows.

Valentine Milk Carton Gift Box (Jane's Doodles DT Spotlight)

Hi everyone! :o)

My second post today... If you missed the first one, just scroll down or follow a direct link here.

Today was my turn to be on the spotlight over at Jane's Doodles and I made this Valentine Milk Carton Gift Box. :o)

I made this small gift box for my sweetheart.

First I made a box template from a Kraft cardstock paper (8.5" x 5.75"). I found milk carton box design on Google, studied it a bit and made my own template. I'm planning Box Tutorial Series here on my blog in close future, so I didn't prepare step by step instructions for today. Also, the weather was not my friend while I was making this one and I couldn't take any good photos. Soon. :o)

To make my own patterned paper, I was inspired with beautiful card made by Francine Vuillème of 1001 cartes. Her AWESOME background creating/coloring on Kraft technique was something I wanted to try for a long time and finally did it. Thank  you for sharing and inspiration Francine!!! :o)

I randomly stamped hearts from 6 different Jane's Doodles stamp sets (all listed below in List of supplies) on a Kraft cardstock paper, colored them with colored pencils and cut paper into four small rectangles, glued them on slightly larger white rectangles and glued everything on the box template.

Then I outlined hearts with white gel pen and added light reflections on each heart. After drying, light reflections on dark blue hearts changed color. White gel pen soaked blue color and turned blue and violet. Awful!!! I tried tracing them one more time, but that didn't help. Then I decided to try with an acrylic paint. I mixed white acrylic paint with a bit of water and using very thin paint brush traced light reflections on dark blue hearts one more time. It worked!! Happiness overload!! :o)

Here is a photo of the box before I assembled it.

I assembled the box, leaving only one side on top to open, like a Milk Carton Box. :o) I heat embossed in white a sentiment form a Jane's Doodles 'Coffee Time' stamp set on a piece of Kraft cardstock paper, cut it to preferable size and glued it on top of the box.

I filled the box with Bajadera chocolate pralines and closed the box. I could left it that way, but tiny details were needed. :o)

I "closed" the box with two tiny clothes pins and tied the box top with bakers twine, on which ends I thread plastic letter beads, G and M. G for Goran and M for Milka. :o)
