Hi everyone! :o)
On Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019, a new challenge started at CASology. This fortnight's cue word is Gingerbread. :o)
I didn't have time to write blog post on time, but there's still time to join the challenge, which ends on Monday, December 16th, 9 AM, CDT (UTC -6).
And here is my take on the challenge: CAS (clean and simple), Sweet Holidays Card. :o)
Design defined:
To make my card I used super cute Gingerbread Man stamp from Jane's Doodles 'Gingerbread' stamp set and free Impact Label Font.
I stamped the Gingerbread Man on a watercolor paper and colored him in watercolor technique using only one color: a Distress Ink Ground Espresso. After drying, I fussy cut the Gingerbread Man, traced edges with a black marker and softened the image with a stylus ball on a soft working mat. This curled the image a bit.
I stamped another Gingerbread Man on a white cardstock paper, colored him with a black marker, fussy cut him, leaving thin white border around him, and glued watercolored Gingerbread Man over him. Lastly, I drew black and white details on Gingerbread Man's scarf, drew highlights and the image was finished.

Adding dimension gives CAS card special interest.
How I made my card....

Lastly, I drew black and white details on Gingerbread Man's scarf, drew highlights and the image was finished.
Then I wrote a sentiment 'Sweet Holidays' on my computer, printed it out on the white cardstock paper, cut it out, colored edges with a black marker and got a lovely label, as if I had label maker. :o)
Next up was a background. I splattered a Kraft paper cardstock panel with a white tempera color mixed with a bit of water using a paint brush. I left the panel to dry on air.
I love dimension on my cards. I wanted to pop up the panel, but I wanted to save on a 3-D foam, so I used the white cardstock instead. I cut two white panels, same size as the Kraft panel, and glued them and Krat panel together (stacked them). Then I glued stacked panels on a white top folded card base. I glued another white panel inside the card to make the card sturdier.
Lastly, I glued 3-D foam squares on the back of the image and sentiment labels, glued them on the card and my card was finished. :o)
