Birthday Card for Vanesa

Hello everyone :-D

Wonderful weekend! My parents and my niece Tea visited me. I haven´t see them for almost 7 months and it was so nice they were here with me. Happiness!!! :-D

Today, after they left, I was very emotional, so I grabbed papers and colored pencils to cheer myself, and made a Birthday Card for Vanesa. Vanesa is my niece, my cousin´s daughter, who will turn 14 next week.

For my card layout I used a sketch097 with a twist from {heart} sketches by Imke Ludvig. Twist was to use embossed cardstock, but I didn´t use it because I don´t have any, neither I have tools for embossing.

Wonderful sketch to use scraps from stash, which I did. I used scraps of green designer paper and white paper on which I printed the image and sentiment. I fussy cut that beautiful flower from the designer paper leftovers I used and embellished the card with it.

I used From the Heart Stamps 'Surprised Birdbrain' digital stamp set, which includes two images, a surprised Birdbrain Chick and another surprising a worm, and nine bonus sentiments. This is new digital stamp set in From the Heart Stamps shop and it so fun!! :-D

I colored image with colored pencils and added transparent varnish on eyelids, beak and belly to create glossy accents.

I printed one of the sentiments on a white cardstock paper and placed it inside of the card. I can´t believe 14 years passed already!! :-D

Card dimensions are 105 mm x 148 mm (4 1/8" x 5 7/8").

List of supplies:
  • From the Heart Stamps 'Surprised Birdbrain'
  • designer papers (I got this from friend crafter and I don´t have details about these papers)
  • white cardstock paper
  • white paper 160 grams
